Then we could say that Vampire Hunter D was one of the worst Castlevania games ever considering he was Dracula's son and therefore Alucard's brother. Hmmm....does that make Van Helsing his brother's father's cousin's former roommate? Didn't the orignal anime inspire Castlevania?

Castlevania games that I have played:
Castlevania ~ Good. I like this better than III. Lacks save or password, but Japanese release has a easy mode, which is a cake walk.
Castlevania III ~ Often said to be this series best. Good platformer.
Super Castlevania IV ~ My favorite Castlevania. Easiest platformer in this series, and too repetitive, but still my favorite game in this series.
Castlevania Bloodlines ~ Good game. Has two characters to select at it's beginning. That should have been in other games, as it is a excellent option. Nothing else about it stands out, however. Good game regardless.
All three GB games ~ Not too good. I would avoid these.
All three GBA games ~ Good games. I prefer this series as a platformer series, rather than a action adventure series, but these are still good games.
Akumajou Special ~ Famicom Castlevania parody. Would probably be my favorite Castlevania if it was not so difficult. Recommended to at least emulate.
Castlevania X/Akumajou Dracula XX (SNES/SFC) ~ Ok game. Nothing about it stands out. Direct sequel to TG-16CD game.

Castlevania IV is bottom barrel. I won't go into why, you can use the search function for that tangent. Seeing how widely well-regarded Castlevania IV is, it'll be somewhat difficult to find out about what makes it a "bottom-barrel" game with just a search engine. I was talking about the search function for the forum. I have my own opinion about CvIV, and I back it up. Trouble is, I tend to get carried away whenever I express it So I tend to leave it in one place for those who are so interested to find it. if you'd like to hear about why I consider CvIV inferior to even a gameboy Castlevania, just PM me and I'll reply with my broken down opinion.

I liked what I played of Curse of darkness. I'm stuck in harmony the top part of the castle is blocked off and I'm endlessly searching to find exactly what I need to unlock it. I do not like Aria of Sorrow AT ALL the weapon they give you has NO range at all. I've yet to play Circle of the moon but hope too soon. Have yet to touch the DS games. I have played Dracula X but only on the SNES Castlevania IV is too easy. 1 is classic Haunted Castle is good (the arcade game) 2 is a good foreshadow of what's to come. 3 is awesome but gets insane near the end on top of that there are 2 versions with the Famicom version being the better of the 2. SOTN, PC Engine Dracula X, Chronicles, 64, the 2 orignal Gameboy games, and the first PS2 game I haven't played. Dude, first of all, SOTN and Dracula X PCE are what you need to play NOW. Get your priorities straight. Curse of Darkness is pretty good, not excellent. Chronicles is great, I had the PSX version but I sold it , then play Belmont's Revenge on Gameboy, EXCELLENT. And Lament of Innocence for PS2 is alright. Anybody agrees??

Well I don't really have the means to play the PCE game, seeing as how a PC Engine is as much as any newer console and that's if I can even find one. and Then Tracking Dracula X down........
SOTN I'm downloading as soon as it comes up on XBLA
