You should have said "one of the more expensive Super Famicom purchases ever." Most of the Neo-Geo library goes for higher than that these days, and there are a great number of other examples of old games with equal or higher prices.

That's a good point, though I'm trying to figure out what to edit - a quick glimpse shows that the current asking price for the game is about 30,000 yen in box.

Hey, great to see this game on HG101. Also, I apppreciate the link to my review of this game at the bottom of the article.
I personally enjoyed the game myself. I love its oddness, quirks and it's unlike so many other SFC games. YMMV, naturally.

Got it, I actually haven't ever purchased a physical copy of a rare game, so I don't really know the prices (remembered $200 for Radiant Silvergun but maybe it's not even true anymore these days?) and relied on what I found elsewhere. I suppose I need to get more informed on this...

You're welcome, I may have never known that it was supposed to be released in the West if it wasn't for your review. I browse your site every once in a while and it's one of the go-to sites for rarities and curious informations! As for DTAI, I obviously did not enjoy it but would have liked it more, I like this kind of Japanese weirdness but found it too stupid and not in a good way, mostly because it seems a bit rushed and too easy.

I suppose I need to get more informed on this... There's been a boom on the high end of retro game prices even recently. So $200 might have been a lot a few years ago (Neo Geo excluded, which has always been super pricey), but now there are a lot of more expensive titles out there too. There are a few cart-only games floating around on eBay for a little under $100. I thought about grabbing it just to fill in my collection, but I also had grabbed Toilet Kids for the PCE this week, another one of those games that has a dumb sense of humor but isn't that great, so I couldn't justify flushing more money down the drain for mediocrity.

I’m going to note that thunder is not one of the four classic elements.
Also, there seem to be some encoding problems, as some quotation marks show up as interpuncts, at least for me (like this: ・YEAHyasu")

Also one error has not been corrected, where it says ・desperation move" after the character box.
