After S.P.Y., this might have been the last remaining Konami arcade game I hadn't heard of. Feels like an alternate take on Data East's Express Raider.

It even got a western release and it's from Konami, but this is the first I've heard of it. It must have been extremely uncommon even when it was contemporary. Definitely a cool looking game though.
I did notice a small error in the article: the labels for the American and Japanese flyers seem to have been reversed.

Can we consider this a predecessor of sorts to Sunset Riders (and maybe Guardian Heroes too)?

The graphics look so tailor made for the NES that I'm surprised it never made it to the NES.

The graphics look so tailor made for the NES that I'm surprised it never made it to the NES. Maybe because it lacked the variety in levels compared to something like Rush n' Attack? Of course they could have made more different levels, but that would take more effort.

I had the C64 version way back when. It was one of the few cassette games that would load (because my read head was off and I didn’t know it was the cause, nor knew how to fix it). Didn’t play it too much because it was so hard I could never get anywhere.

They forgot or didn't know about the Xbox 360 version on the Game Room app.

I need to go through and get a listing of all of the Konami games on Game Room. Is it still active, even? Like can you still purchase games off it? I remember there were great plans for it, some oddball games like Scooter Shooter snuck through, there was a release of Detana! TwinBee...then the whole thing got plugged before Sunset Riders came out.

The actual app isn't available anymore but for those like me that downloaded it previously, games can still be purchased within it. The game room version like scooter shooter has the music removed (if the originals even had it). Not sure because before game room both titles were unknown to me. Game room flopped big time but I personally love it. I still boot it up for some Liberator, M.IA., Jailbreak action. There are two Twin Bee games.
