Vote here! Here's a quick impromptu poll for you guys: is there a system you feel we haven't covered enough, or would like to see us cover more in the future? Please let us know! We opted for a short list of well known systems that emulate reasonably well, but if your favorite system is not on this poll, please tell us. We may run similar polls in the future, so don't be afraid to treat this as a general feedback thread, too.

Voted for the DS. One of my favorite systems, and easily my favorite handheld; I think I own more games for it than any other system.

Voted for the TG-16 because the internet as a whole already makes more than enough content for systems like the SNES and Playstation.
I feel that GC9X is at its best when it covers games outside of the normal spectrum of internet coverage. Games on less ubiquitous systems and old PC titles nobody ever talks about anymore are the most interesting episodes... both to listen to and to play along with. There's a wealth of interesting games out there that never get any attention just because they aren't on more common systems.

There's a wealth of interesting games out there that never get any attention just because they aren't on more common systems. I agree and disagree. I think we've had our best episodes when there's been something sort of off the beaten path that might've been missed, like Hybrid Heaven. But I'm going to be perfectly honest, most of the times the odd-man-out gets picked it's at best something that feels like a chore to play. I'm going to bring up Obitus - It's not that it's really a bad game or anything even, it's just really boring, the game is really straightforward and unremarkable, and quite frankly I'd rather jerk off with chopsticks than play another game where I have to make my own maps for really annoying, non-euclidean mazes. I think we were at a loss to find anything to say about it other than "hey it's by Psygnosis." I'm pretty sure we talked more about other Psygnosis games that we'd have rather been playing than we did about Obitus in the podcast. This month is fine because the game is actually good and fun to play, but I'd have to say those kind of situations have represented (for me) about five out of the last twelve games. Lumping the pain in the ass that is getting some PC games running doesn't help any. That being said I'm all for playing more Turbo/PC Engine games, I love that system and there is a lot of potential.

I'm guessing the omission of DOS is intentional?

It might be yes! ;p I did forget to put the N64 on here (oops!), but nobody has complained so far so I guess that's okay.

NES is missing too.

I think the NES is the second most covered system on GC9X, right after DOS.

To be fair, the N64 is a total pain to actually emulate. Sadly, even Saturn emulation is more reliable, these days. (And it's a lot easier to set up a controller for, too.)

That still seems like a glaring omission given there are two Nintendo portable systems on the list. I guess the DS fills the void the N64 would have, though.

I voted for PlayStation purely on the basis that I own more games for it than any other system.
Personally I'd be happy just to see slightly fewer PC and/or Western games get chosen, but that's just me. It seems like a ton of the games lately have fallen into one or both categories. But it's not like Japanese and console games haven't been up for voting, so I can't complain.

Yeah, that's just it. I don't know what this poll will really end up accomplishing, because games are coming up for vote; they just aren't winning.
I actually did a tally BTW, and the SNES has had more games than NES on GC9x, although granted several are multiplatform and some are from multi-game months:
NES: Spelunker II Mother Sweet Home Dr Chaos Crystalis Maze of Galious Snake's Revenge
SNES: Home Improvement Plok (1/3) Ardy Lightfoot (1/3) Operation Logic Bomb (1/2) Wonder Project J Obitus (slso DOS/Amiga/Atari ST) Blackthorne (also DOS/GBA/32X) Madden 95 (also Genesis)

You should make the ZX Spectrum the exclusive platform for GC9X. (hm, kinda disappointed the board does not have a devil emoticon built in.)

I realize this poll might not be very useful, but we've been running this for three years, so I figured why not get some feedback. :p
I'm wondering if I should run another poll dedicated to PC systems after this one? There's not that much overlap with console gaming usually.
