hey everyone! I'm doing a little grassroots outreach campaign with shmuplations.com for several of the vg communities that have helped me out in the last couple years. As some of you know, each month I translate 5 japanese game developer interviews from this list of materials I've accumulated. Half of what I translate in a month is devoted to whatever my patreon supporters vote on, but the rest is whatever I feel like doing. This month I'm opening that voting process up to you guys, and will translate whatever 2 interviews you choose as a way of saying thanks, and hoping to raise interest in this great (and free!) source of gaming history. How it Works1.) Choose two interviews that look interesting from this list of interviews here. 2.) Reply in this thread with the title of the two interviews you'd like translated, i.e. "Beyond Oasis - 1994 Developer Interview" 3.) At the end of the week (Friday, April 10th), I'll pick the two interviews that had the most votes, and translate them by the end of April. 4.) Bask in the warm CRT-like glow of gaming history. Let me know if you have any questions (and yes, you can use both your "votes" on a single interview--you don't have to choose two). I'll be doing this same little mini-voting thing at other forums in the coming months, so if you're a member of other communities, you might get a second (or third, or fourth) bite at the apple. My warmest thanks again to Kurt and the mods who gave their blessing for this, and to all the people who make hg101 a great resource that I've used and linked to many times over the years. Looking forward to translating what you guys choose!

Looking forward to translating what you guys choose! Damn, this is a nice surprise, thank you! I'd found out about y'all through Don Rumata / DragEnRegalia a while back, but most recently the interview with Yoshinori Satake was a godsend for this month's podcast, it really helped me get an extra appreciation for Hot B's games - thanks for translating that, and everything else! There's too many to pick from, but here's my two votes: 2 votes for: Cosmic Fantasy - Developer Interview Thanks again, y'all are doing God's work! Edit: Putting my weight behind Cosmic Fantasy. Kazuhiro Ochi is a totally chill guy, everyone vote for that article!

Wow, with that much choice, you'll be lucky if you get even two votes for the same interview. I vote for: ADK's Ninja Games (Ninja Combat, Ninja Commandos, Ninja Masters)Father of the Famicom Disk System - Developer InterviewNo, make that both votes for: Dragon Quest vs. Dragon Slayer - Developer Interview

Well, I'm not actually contributing anything to HG101, and it's unlikely anyone else will vote for the same thing, but here's my picks anyway:
-Gradius II & III - Composer Interview. -Mother 2- Developer interview.

So, uhm, can anyone vote or just contributors?
I'll use both my votes for Mega Man X - Developer Diary.
Since that one's already in anyway, I'll use both votes for Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap - Developer Interview.

thanks everyone! I'm not surprised at the early Falcom lead, hehe. let me clarify a few things: Anyone can vote, not just contributors. sorry if that was confusing! You can change your vote(s) as many times as you want up till Friday, in the event you'd like to throw your weight behind something else. That will help offset the fact that there's so many different interviews to choose from! As luck/fate would have it, this was just chosen this month by one of the 15.00/month patrons, who used his quarterly voucher on it. Look for it later this month, and please choose another interview(s)!
