Unfortunately, Japanese PSN only. Yeah, I misread the PSN store - sorry about that. I have no idea why those games are even listed there if you can't buy them. No problem man. I've got a friend searching for his BB to lend me. And BAT is real cheap on eBay.

Bloody Roar? I actually remember being at a Software Etc. in 1998 and seeing someone go out of their way to buy Iron & Blood: Warriors of Ravenloft. You know once upon a time a young naive Klaid once thought he owned every D&D game outside of the Gold Box games. He owned Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate and II. Poor foolish naive Klaid, not realizing they'd shove that licence into everything. Also, I get to bitch about we're not having DBZ Budokai?

No Budokai, no buy.

Well, I've put several hours into Bushido Blade the last two nights. I used to play it as a kid, so I knew how most of the controls and combat worked. Tonight I beat every character's story on hard mode, but those hidden endings... forget it... I think I'm just gonna take this as completion enough. Pro tips: -Read the manual. The game will take many hours of training if you don't know the controls. Every character and weapon combination have different move sets too. If your copy ("copy") doesn't have a manual here's a pdf of it: www.replacementdocs.com/download.php?view.5202-Don't run and stab the final boss in the face while he's talking =3. -Don't knock an opponent off a cliff then sit there and stab their face while they're climbing up =3. -Do stab the gun boss in the face while he's reloading, that's okay =3. There are many "anti-bushido" tactics which result in an instant Game Over. -Try POV Mode, it's a hoot.

So... there's apparently a DOS version of Toshinden. And Mobygames says it has IPX support. Let's do this.
(heads to eBay)

Wait, it has network support?! I thought it had local only! Might be worth finding a copy then. Do the other PC ports support online multiplayer? Edit:That reminds me, but the PC version of Zero Divide supports network play, too! No idea how it works, or if it works at all, but that might be worth setting up. Edit 2:According to MobyGames, Toshinden 2 supports multiplayer as well!

Zero Divide played closer to Virtua Fighter (nowhere as good, though) than to Toshinden from what I remember.
I've played the DOS version of Toshinden as a kid. I loved the music, the graphics and all. I was bummed there were no story-style endings at all, though. Part 2 has great graphics for its time IMO, superb music, but still plays super hectic. The Game Boy version is quite fun, though. Toshinden 3 I've never played, but from what I've read, they fucked with the blocking mechanics for the Western version, which pretty much destroyed any balance. Toshinden 4 was utter shit, and it had huge PAL bars, which was a joke considering when it was released.

It seems Zero Divide for PC supports online over DirectPlay, an old, unsupported networking API. That also means it will not work with IP tunneling programs, such as Hamachi. Odds are good Toshinden 2 uses the same API as well, so that's a dead end.
Thankfully, DOSBox's IPX tunneling works flawlessly, so that means we can get matches of Toshinden going at least!

I started and finished Bushido Blade. On normal. All characters endings achieved. However, I did not get any of the true endings because it was just too difficult. Forget that noise. Fun game tho

Snarboo, that's weird, because I was under the impression that Virtual-On also used DirectPlay, and I was able to get that working over the internet with bog standard router port forwarding. It's still either TCP, UDP or a mixture when it comes down to the technical stuff.

And one on the Wii, too, apparently, from 2009. That one looks so different that I'm not entirely sure if it's even the same franchise, though. Looks better than Castlevania Judgement, at least. I think. Maybe. I'm guessing it was meant as a sort of reboot, 'cause the logo is the same as the originals, and it is a Takara game. It seems Zero Divide for PC supports online over DirectPlay, an old, unsupported networking API. That also means it will not work with IP tunneling programs, such as Hamachi. Odds are good Toshinden 2 uses the same API as well, so that's a dead end. Zero Divide and Toshinden 2 were ported by the same company (Kinesoft) so it's pretty likely they both use DirectPlay. Even moreso considering a lot of these ports were the result of a thing started by Microsoft and a few other companies.

Do the ports used between games vary, or is it always the same ones? I can try forwarding them and see if anyone can join me.

They didn't vary for me. You can always try a sample LAN game and monitoring the communication using Wireshark to see what ports it actually uses.

Is there any indication to know that you've broken Bushido in story mode?
And I forget about the battle damage effects. So cool.
