I enjoyed reading through this feature, which has to be the absolute epitome of trivia (I'm being quite genuine, I loved poring over this). One game did come to mind that wasn't in the list, though: Looking Glass Software's Flight Unlimited had a first-person 3D pilot's mess as its menu system, and part of the room included an arcade machine - the best screenshot I can find is on MobyGames: www.mobygames.com/game/dos/flight-unlimited/screenshots/gameShotId,371443/ I'm pretty sure that the game wasn't playable, and I can't be sure but I seem to recall it showing a fake screenshot that looked awfully like a very low resolution Virtua Fighter, but it's been a very long time, so I could be wrong. Alas, I don't have a copy of the game to hand to check.

Made a small update cause I (re)discovered another one in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. (btw. yes I haven't yet included the last handful of suggestions, sorry.)

i'd be completely ok with a call of duty pin Yeah, y'know, weirdly enough I don't think there is a pinball out there with a theme like that. I can only think of the "Stall Turn" table in Pinball Dreams 2, and that's the First World War, not the second.

Interesting to note that, while the images are from the original Atari 2600 versions, the sideart and marquee were taken from the boxes of the Intellivision versions, most noticeable due to the different-looking Activision logo.

So I was watching a vid of Bad Boys: Miami Takedown, and in one part on the first mission, Marcus and Mike go through an arcade, with some fake games, as well as a few pinball machines. Said pinballs use the artwork from a few of the Pro Pinball games (Timeshock! and Big Race USA), as Miami Takedown is also from Empire Interactive.

Was watching a playthrough of Capcom's PS1/PC FMV game Fox Hunt last night, and near the end, the main character goes to a recreation room of sorts (as that's where one of his partners was last seen at), which features plenty of Capcom arcade games, the most noticeable one being X-Men: Children of the Atom (due to the blurriness of the footage, the rest aren't easily identifiable), as well as a fake Fox Hunt machine, which is a standard CPS cabinet. Oddly, the fake game also features the high score screen of 19XX: The War Against Destiny, which is actually plot-relevant.
(if the timer doesn't work, it starts at around 1:24:15)

Stuff like this makes me think of all the time I spent on the first Shenmue game. It got to the point where all I wanted to do was go to the docks for work, make some cash, and then spend it all on Hang-On. It was weeks before I finally buckled down and decided to progress the story anymore. =p

(Dammit, give me something other than Binsbein! I want Opa-Opa!)

Speaking of Shenmue, I discovered that the Genesis/Mega Drive game Rent A Hero (only recently translated into English) did the same thing but 8 years before: in one city you find an arcade full of nondescript coin-ops and pachinkos but also several actual Sega arcade games, from After Burner to G-LOC, and if you examine them they play a snippet of their most famous melody! A video example can be found here, if you want I can provide you with a few screenshot tomorrow (a bit tired now).

Definitely! That is some fine pixel art. I guess someones gonna have to play through the Dreamcast sequel/remake now to see if they repeated that part...
