Now I'm just imagining Rad Rex wearing nothing but red, white and blue spandex pants while posing as bald eagles explode out from behind him and caw the American national anthem, all while farting starts behind them until fifty hang in the air.

And I thought it was an article about the two superhero games from Irrational.

I thought the Zapper got more use in US than Japan, I mean half of the Nintendo-developed software that used it was US-exclusive (Gumshoe, To The Earth, Barker Bill's). There's also that Konami Laserscope headset that is US-only and Zapper-compatible with its game.

Despite the cheesiness of the game title, this does look like a quality light gun game that would have been fun to play back in the day, or at least a fun rental. I thought the Zapper got more use in US than Japan, I mean half of the Nintendo-developed software that used it was US-exclusive (Gumshoe, To The Earth, Barker Bill's). There's also that Konami Laserscope headset that is US-only and Zapper-compatible with its game. Undoubtedly. Possibly because the light gun sold better in the US than Japan.

I had this back in the day Love the animated intro, impressive even today. The animation when hostages are pushed into doorways is also unbelievably good. Almost looks rotoscoped.

I believe there's like 14 Zapper-compatible official games in the US, which I think actually includes ALL Zapper-compatible games ever developed. Because, you know, Americans are ALL gun nuts! But Japan only got six licensed games. (Hogan's Alley, Duck Hunt, Wild Gunman, Laser Invasion/Gunsight, Operation Wolf and Bayou Billy/Mad City)

The skyscraper scene in the game's opening was used in this:
