Started watching the second season of Expanse. This show is just made for me, pretty much exactly what I'd want from scifi. The characters are mostly just okay, but everything else is great. Also seriously makes me want replay the Independence War games.
Also rewatching the early seasons of Trailerpark Boys before I get to the newer ones. I actually like it more this time around.

Just when I thought Mark Frost had reigned in David Lynch, the third season of Twin Peaks ends in the most confusing, cryptic way. But truth be told, I like it that way. Sounds like something worth watching. I really enjoyed that kind of mystifying, open-endedness aspect of Mulholland Drive. Where even the smallest details are not there by accident.

Sounds like something worth watching. I really enjoyed that kind of mystifying, open-endedness aspect of Mulholland Drive. Where even the smallest details are not there by accident. It definitely is like that. As you said, every detail counts. I have to rewatch it later, which won't be a hassle: the cinematography and the sound design are top-notch, as expected from Lynch. He can create an unsettling atmosphere with a just few visual and sound elements. Having said that, I think the show also reflects the one bad trait Lynch has developed ever since shooting Mulholland Drive. He overestimates the intelligence of the audience by giving very few clues. I don't expect an answer to everything, but, without getting into spoilers, he leaves some plot threads too damn open when they deserved some small form of closure. But yeah, the show is worth for the journey alone. It's like Mulholland Drive, but hundred times bigger in scope (thanks to Mark Frost's input) and not afraid to subvert your expectations the least probable way.

Another South Park season has started, I refused to watch the episode because after the trainwreck that was Season 20 I stopped watching it altogether, but I still read a few reviews. They all say the same thing: it was an unfunny mess that tried to juggle too many plots while not having anything meaningful to say about the central theme of the episode, that is, white supremacists.
This pretty much proves my point that Parker and/or Stone should stop to be so obsessed with "being topical" and go back to the wacky toilet humor that made them famous in the first place. They clearly don't know what "satire" means anymore, if they even knew it to begin with. Also I read that for a SP episode there were mostly nothing of the boys outside Cartman, so what's the point?

Should they go back to anything, or should they just create something new?

Yeah, the SP season opener was a mess. The Cartman storyline was completely aimless, and the episode completely failed to make any point of the Neo-Nazi protests at all. Like, there's a brief part where Kenny's dad flips out, and they're waving a confederate flag around, but that's literally it. It feels unfinished or something.
The only part that had any potential was the thing where they replace Alexa and similar stuff with rednecks. But that's just a throwaway gag.
And also, the music was mixed way too loud. You'd think they fix it in time for the Dutch premiere, which is bit later than the American one, but no.

Stated watching season 4 of Chef's Table. The cinematography is just mesmerizing. The stories behind the chefs are so profound.

I am watching the Sonic Boom cartoon and...after a rough start i am suprisingly really enjoying this cartoon, i actually think the show is funny and the characters are likeable, the animation could be a bit better but it's fine.
Seriously, i am suprised the cartoon is good considering it's based on a game franchise, even worse being based on the Sonic Boom games, though it probably helps that it only keeps the designs and seems to outright ignore said games and their stories doing it's own thing.
Also, there was this:

Finished watching The Expanse season 2. Loved it and can't wait for season 3. Any other fans here?

So, if anyone is a SU fan and they can't stand the hiatus anymore, I suggest checking out OK K.O., it's a pretty enjoyable little show. Also the first CN show I ever heard Jim Cummings in, and he's also the main bad guy so that's a plus.
Also if there's any Gravity Falls fans here, I suggest you look into Welcome to the Wayne. It's like if GF took place in a weird hotel instead.
And it has half of the principal cast of Aqua Teen Hunger Force on the voice cast, for any fans of that show.

Star Trek Discovery Episode 1: Enjoyed it, though if anything CBS' distribution will be the thing that kills this show.

Last week's South Park was a noticeable improvement over the previous episode. I'll keep watching the season for a while.

Star Trek Discovery Episode 1: Enjoyed it, though if anything CBS' distribution will be the thing that kills this show. It's on Netflix outside of the US, which is where it should be (well, that or just on TV) It's even called a Netflix Original over here. I figure they think, of all possible audiences, Trekkies are hard-core enough to go trough the trouble of signing up and paying for CBS' streaming service. At any rate, it's pretty good. It's weird though. Prior to this, the only ST things I've seen is about 2 seasons of TOS and some Next Gen episodes on TV, so it's kind of odd to see a Star Trek episode with such modern effects and filming. It's cool that they kept the same beeps and boops on the bridge and the same sound (sort of) for the doors.
