Doesn't anyone remember WOW! YOU LOSE! ? (from Bokosuka Wars. Most players probably saw that within minutes of playing, since most people probably have no idea how to play it. )

Shmup fans consider this and Deathsmiles as two excellent (but best?) ones in the horizontal type of the genre.

Pre-renders look not so good on bosses, but still amazes you with animations and transformations.

This one looks pretty good. I watched just today a longplay of Yumekobo's Prehistoric Isle 2 and I wonder how they could go from a good game like this to a weird ugly cheese-fest like PI2 that liberally "borrows" from many other games, with pre-rendered graphics that make dinosaurs look like toys on par with Rex from the first Toy Story. Also there's NOT an isle in the whole game and many enemies are not even dinosaurs but strange monsters, like the final boss that is some weird squid alien that looks like a mix between a Darius boss and that giant monster from X Multiply. What were they thinking?
Come to think of it, there's no coverage on the site of the Prehistoric Isle duology! Is anyone interested?

I'd like to see both Prehistoric Isle and Alpha Mission covered.
