Hey guys... I'm working on Part 2 of my movie "Mary the Bitch" (Here is part 1: sevenhertz.net/Flash/chemicals.html) and I'm making the RPG scene right now. If you haven't seen it... and you don't feel like it... that's fine... because not everybody liked it. I'm going to try to make part 2 better. So here's the scoop... at this point in the movie, just like in the original version, an random RPG battle breaks out. It's MTB and Leon from Resident Evil vs 3 zombies. Every turn in the RPG is a reference to a different RPG... and the first turn I did was Valkyrie Profile. Since I only have two characters in the movie... there are only 2 moves. I took elements from both games, but was mostly inspired by the second. (I removed it.) I'm only showing this to you guys right now, because I know some of you have played this game, and I'd like to know what you think! I'm going to get started on the next turn, which is shadow hearts 2.

I could have sworn sombody would have at least said SOMETHING. Well, in any case, I didn't want to leave it up for too long... so Im taking it down.

He he, nice work. Well animated and some great editing here. I can't comment on the Valkyrie Profile or the shadow hearts 2 references since I have yet to play them, but I laughed out loud at the "Here, use this" comment. And what's with all the filthy cigarettes?

Thank you. I appreciate it.
Well the cigarettes are about the character... she's pretty much a heavy smoker and a bitch and that's all. To have her involved in an RPG is REALLY a stretch but that's how my movie is. That's how the original version was as well. Because when I made the original, I didn't plan on having all these game refrences... I just wanted to make fun of somebody I knew, but I started to have fun with flash and it turned into what it was. It got kind of messy at the end so I'm remaking it now that I'm better at flash.

Yeah actually I would have commented except I haven't played Valkyrie so I could answer what you asked While I don't personally approve very much of sticks (I'm not going to argue a case here, it's purely asethetical value for me). It's very smooth and so it looks great and a very defined improvement over the first one. The attacks also look great.

Kinda reminds me of the Demented Cartoon Movie. Man, that thing was awesome!

Yeah I usually get the whole "Stick figures sucks, so this sucks, so you suck. Die. Kill yourself, you're gay.... " ect ect ect.... but I like stick figures and I think if actually animated, expresionate, and unique from each other... a stick figure movie can be just as good as something that doesn't use sticks. Not only that but it's really easy for me to use a wide variety of camera angles... which is something I wouldn't be able to do if I didn't use em. I also like the idea of using realisticly drawn objects being used by crudely drawn stick figures (this is something aqua teen does as well, though I believe they use photographs). Just look at some of the guns I drew, some of which (the sniper rifle) took days just to draw. I'm glad you say that it looks good though, because yes, even though my characters are stick figures... I do put effort into the artwork and animation. I put effort into backgrounds too, but didn't use them for these special moves.
Most stick figure moves (Demented cartoon movie included) do NOT put any effort into artwork or animation... and use sticks only as a means to an end. Every character looks the same, usually don't even have a single expression, do nothing but tween and bleed (red paintbrush tool, hooray!) are never drawn more than once, no camera angles besides a side view is used, backgrounds usually aren't included... and usually are just there so they can explode (with really great YELLOW paintbrush effects usually) and use the "budget gradients" you find as the default color swatches for the explosions. If sticks ARE actually animated, they're usually without faces and fighting each other for no given reason... the only difference between them usually is the color of the sticks. If there is any speech, it's never lip synched. Perspective is never used, objects are drawn just as crudely as the characters and they're not even given names usually. I'm at least trying to stay away from that trend, nobody sees it though. They just see stick figures and think....
It sucks! But OMG you used sonic music so good music but i dont get it so it sucks! go delete flash off your computer then burn your computer then give me back the minutes i lost watching yoru movie then hang yourself please but please tell me HOW DO YOU MAKE THOSE GAMES
Sorry, I've been scarred by newgrounds.

Yeah, Newgrounds is a funny place like that. Explosm suggests the viewing of The Castle 3 and so do I, another stick series that really puts in the effort.
As I said, I know the relative animation efforts (I animate in flash myself if I feel patient), a lot of real *flash* animation is the exact same as stick animation (that is to say Tweening and a few changes) but with better drawn figures. There are of course stand out animations every so often but they're so cut above that one shouldn't even count them.
