In an effort for me to post a little more on the boards, I've decided to make this thread. The rules are simple: 1) Post a quirky, strange, etc. game you feel didn't come to the U.S. (Or to your region. Reason can be silly, made up, technical, etc.) 2) Try not to be rude 3) Post the name of the game, as well as the system I'll try to make more rules as I go. Anyway, here's a game I don't think was released for a good reason. Also, if things don't seem to bode well, please let me know. Well, here goes...: Name: G.O.D System: Super Famicom Reason: Wierd Dancing Hero, Choice of words, Army guy ripped-off Guile's hair

Dreamcast's Napple Tale.
Beening trying to get this game for years and I just can't track it down. Designs by the sailor moon people and Music by Yoko Kanno.

Oh. I have Napple Tale. I meant to write an article on it (like a lot of things I've bought over the past few years) and haven't gotten around to it.
I don't know an actual answer for certain, but perhaps Sega felt it was too cutesy to go over with their audience. The whole game has a girly fairy tale theme associated with it which I think would be even more off-putting than, say, the super deformed characters in Evolution, which at least has appeal to the anime audience. The game's pretty good from what I've played, although a pure 2.5D perspective like Klonoa would've served it better. (It's viewed from a side scrolling angle but you can still move up and down in the scenery a la Double Dragon and stuff.)
I'm sure I can think of a lot more games later.

Name: Radiant Silvergun System: Sega Saturn. Reason: I really don't know. Sega of America was a very strange bird, back then. My guess is that they gave up on the Saturn long before we did.

The same reason the super robot games arent out probably. There are some characters that aren't published in america by capcom, It's either that or us americans wouldn't know some of the characters

I could also argue that I recognised only %25 of the Marvel characters in Marvel Vs Capcom 2 though I guess I would be in the larger minority. One thing though- Smash Bros incresed peoples interest in Fire Emblem, Earthbound and the like so maybe this could do the same? Even as a budget US only release I would lap it right up...

I've never played this game, but I'd have to agree. Maybe they felt there wasn't enough of a market for "girly" games. There aren't too many main female protagonists in great U.S. released games. Heck, we never got even one Sailor Moon game. another game: Name: Gokinjyo Boukentai System: Super Famicom Reason: Far too childish, God leads the main character in the right direction

Why : Nintendo hates us D: I exalt you for that. Nintendo isn't what comes right to mind when I think of game companies reserving some of their greatest titles for Japan only (Konami's the worst offender, IMO), but... all I can say is WHY, NINTENDO?!? Somebody better at least make a patch for it for the Visual Boy Advance emu... the gameplay might be a slight tad choppy, but it's better than squat... *grumble* I forget the exact name of this game, but... I think it was something like... Name: Gourmet Sentai Bara Yarou System: Super Famicom Reason: Giant floating robot heads that GIVE head, a giant metal Tanuki with very obvious testicles, and a hovering boss whose lower torso is a big... injector. Yeah... yeah. Not sure I have to say much else.

My pick is Dracula X for the PC Engine. Castlevania was always a big seller outside of Japan even more so now. I still don't know why they don't release it here as a port.

Yes but namco X capcom has literally hundreds of unknown to the US/PAL regions. the thing with smash brothers as most of the characters were already very popular outside of japan
