That's pretty sad. AIM was like, one of the last surviving remnants of the Netscape and Geocities age.
I haven't used AIM in 7 years, but still. I'll be sad to see it go.

End of an era. I used to chat with people on AIM all the time as a teenager. I've since forgotten my passwords to my multiple accounts I used; I don't even know if my accounts still work, lol.

The old internet really is dying, isn't it?
I'm still bummed out about imdb losing it's message boards.

Well, some of you might know that Geocities Japan is still around. I ended up there not long ago while researching a '50s actor, pretty cool nostalgia trip.

I'm one of those last three people, too. I don't know what to switch to after this. Trillian doesn't even connect to Skype anymore. The world has gone topsy-turvy.

I only finally stopped using AIM this year. Yet ICQ is still going.

Man, Trillian, I haven't used that in forever. Had no idea it was still around even.
Hell I thought AIM was gone by now too. I personally just use Skype's IM since that's what my friends use. Guess I should try and get more use out of Discord, just haven't had much need. Mostly use it to see updates on Blaistic NG.

I only finally stopped using AIM this year. Yet ICQ is still going. Some of these are very country-specific. ICQ remained strong in Israel (probably it was developed by Israelis), whereas Sweden mainly used a Microsoft client. Likewise, Myspace remained strong in some countries (specifically in Africa IIRC) for a long time after Facebook took over globally.

Well, I've got just the solution for all your connectivity needs! I rarely ever use Skype since Discord became a thing; damn thing was bloated and memory hungry as fuck towards the end. Still use ICQ to communicate a total of one people, but since Pidgin is such an efficient client (as was Miranda) that barely uses memory, that's okay. NEVER used AIM, but used to have an MSN account. (That's been gone ever since MS bought Skype, right?) It used to be popular due to the group chat feature. Man, that one's kinda associated with the Myspace period. Never was all that into Myspace, but that whole era, internet forums, group chats with people from message boards... and being in puberty. Huh. (I remember ICQ also having a group chat feature, but I think it was cumbersome. Something was off about it.)
