www.hardcoregaming101.net/syberia/I was wondering where the thread was for this game until I realized that the whole article is new (despite of course being in ye olde adventure gaems booke). Good to know Syberia III is not quite as awful as initial reviews suggested. Wasn't there talk at some point about bringing in the protagonist of Still Life as the detective from New York? Is that still a thing that happens?

I really need to play Syberia 2 and 3. I loved the first one.

...Well, the second one isn't going to completely ruin your memories of the first one, but best to keep your expectations modest.

It's part new and part not! Most of this was entirely new, written by Jonathan Kaharl, because he was able to give a more balanced look at the series, whereas I kinda didn't like it very much when I wrote about it in the adventure game book. (I did edit in a few paragraphs to flesh it out.) It is totally new on the site, though.

I've been meaning to play Syberia 1 & 2 for years and years, I just never can seem to find the time for them as is the case with many point and click adventure games, a genre I appreciate but at the same time can't help but find kinda tedious, it's very satisfying when you manage to solve a puzzle on your own, but nothing kills my interest faster than when I'm stuck on a puzzle and have to look up a guide, so I always find myself drawn to more action heavy games.
But one of these days.....

Yea adventure games are a strange and tedious beast. They have a special place in my heart though.

RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE!!! I played the forth and most likely last Syberia game and I might actually place it high on my all time favorite games list. It made me sob like a fucking baby. I cannot stress enough how amazing that ending was. RIP Benoit Sokal, this is one hell of a final note to go out on. www.hardcoregaming101.net/syberia-the-world-before/
