I believe that Agetec is defunct. The reason why they stopped to publish Armored Core was the money. They didn't have enough budget to release it. Lots of independent publishers with no inhouse developer studio-stuff died at the start of the PS3 era. I would not be surprised. Agetec mostly put their stuff in digital purchase market like PSN and Eshop.
regarding the games: I can only compare it with Midas Interactive Entertainment, because I asked an employer of Midas. They removed Maken Shao (PS2 Version) from the PSN Store, because they could not extend the contract.
Yours sincerely

Games of note include the Rabi Lady series, the Touch Battle series, Roller Angels, and Magical Whip.
Also, Bloody Vampire if you're a Metroidvania fan.

The support downsized dramatically when they stopped localizing From Software games. I miss them, notable non-From games include Disaster Report and Raw Danger as well as PoPoLoCrois on PSP.
Apparently the meaning of Agetec's name came from ASCII (Western branch?), who originally localized Kings Field and Clock Tower on Playstation. They too just dropped off the earth, after eventually just developing licensed games.

Don't forget Space Channel 5! Agetec championed the hell out of those games, and they're among the best rhythm games ever made. Space Channel 5 Special Edition is an absolute must-have for the PS2.

The timing always felt off to me in the PS2 port, hmm. Either way, sad to see both ASCII and Agetec fade away. They published a lot of nice, offbeat titles in America.

The timing always felt off to me in the PS2 port, hmm. Long as you're playing on a CRT, the timing is spot on, as far as I can tell. If you're playing on an HDTV, though, then yeah, the timing is definitely off -- infinitesimally in the case of some TVs, or by quite a bit in the case of others. -Tom

My only problem with SC5p2, as much as I love the game, is the AWKWARD translation.
"We are known as the rhythm rogues!" "You can't fool us, not anymore!"
At least TRY to make a rhyme...

Maybe someone should make a thread about obscure and defunct developers and publishers. I wonder what happened to them from time to time.

Just talking localization publishers so many came and gone each generation. Example of big ones missing are Conspiracy and Crave. Appear to collaborate too. Conspiracy (and Crave?) worked on Lodoss War, Bangai-O, Stretch Panic... then went to crap making shovelware on Wii save for a gem like Octomania. Crave alone worked on Tokyo Xtreme Racer series, Galerians, Super Magnetic Neo... but worked on so much random non-localizations in the later 2000s before going bankrupt in 2012.

They too just dropped off the earth, after eventually just developing licensed games. That is true. I can remember in the late '90s, when ASCII Entertainment (the US branch of ASCII's game publishing), who previously published games on the SNES as asciiWare or some capitalization variant, announced rebranding themselves as Agetec.
