It used to be Castle Wolfenstein (1981), but I played that earlier this year, and now it's Herzog Zwei (1989).

Did this thread really go to page 2 without ANYBODY writing "Yo mama"?
Anyway, as far as "original release date goes" - some of the older titles on the Roberta Williams Anthology. Don't really intend to ever play them; got the collection for Laura Bow 1 and the manual.
As far as "I bought this but never played it yet", not counting compilations... probably Eternal Darkness on the GC, which I've bought cheap about 8 years ago but never played.

Like some others, I really have no clue on this one. The original Ultimas? The original Wizardrys (only beaten 1 and 5)?

Adventures in the Magic Kingdom, for the NES. 1990. Looking at the info, and geez, even Yoko Shimomura composed music for this game prior to working on Street Fighter 2 and Kingdom Hearts. Also Side Pocket, for SNES. I doubt I'll ever get through it. I could never figure out how to do the trick shots to advance. This ad for the initial release of Side Pocket, for 1986.

I think NES version is a bit harder regarding trick shots in comparison, but still similar in layout(i remember struggling badly on the last shot in that version). But then, there's always an online videos
