So, I might have mentioned this before sometime in the past, and I do have the link in my signature, but... we've been getting a lot of growth lately, so I figure going for another member drive can't hurt. I run HG101's official Discord channel. So official the link is on the front page and everything. Discord, for those of you who might not be aware, is a combination text/voice channel. Basically all the best parts of Skype and IRC rolled into one. And in this channel, we use both, frequently! We discuss lots of things: Games, toys, RPGs, and any other random weirdness that comes to our minds.
We're always looking for new people to join us! And with 120+ members, we're pretty active at almost hours of the day, so feel free to pop in and say hi! Plus, if you're a Patreon donor to HG101, you can earn special access to the exclusive channels!
The link to join us is here. The Discord program is not required!

Two years later I took the plunge and got onto Discrod too. I'm not sure I'll be online that often because I was always terrible at being so on chatting platforms, being more comfortable with the way message boards work. But since all of these are dying out... xD It's cool to see some familiar names from back when who stopped posting on here, though! I can't believe I've been registered here for 13 years by now. Crazy.

Having used it for a year plus now I gotta say it's a shame people who link to interesting and lengthier content there generally don't post it here as well since it's all "disposable" (quickly lost to time) in a chat. Most in the chat don't seem to check the forums much at all.
That's the thing I like about forums, the discussion seems to wait for you in a sense. It's easier to catch up or jump back in even if you aren't that active for a while. I'm not sure how Discord works, but when I was in these group discussion rooms previously I often felt like I can either get into the conversation that is around right now or im SOL since everything that happened while I was not on is over already. That might also have to do with me personally having times of more or less activity and growing up on a message board driven internet, though xD

I wasn't very active anyway, but I can no longer access to my Discord account for some reason, maybe I'm going to create a new one... though I suspect that I still wouldn't say much since (like the posters above say) I have a hard time following the conversations and I always think I'm going to say something unrelated and never can get in the "flow" of the discussion (English not being my first language doesnt help either). Since I'm stuck here with nothing to do, however, I could still give a shot to it...
