I realized that there are a few games that utilize digital target ranges to let players practice the shooting mechanics. I was wondering if there were any more games than the ones I could remember utilizing this feature. 1. Parasite Eve II: Aya can practice the shooting and magic mechanics right at the start of the game. 2. Perfect Dark: Joanna can practice with all of the game's weapons in the Carrington Institute target range. 3. Various Grand Theft Auto games let you visit target ranges in town to build your character's (or characters' in GTAV) shooting ability. It seems like the games that feature target ranges seek realistic ways of teaching the shooting mechanics, even if the game has you shooting mutant animals/humans or aliens.

A lot of FPS's have them as part of the tutorial, though I can't really remember any specific names now, lol. Maybe Half-Life did?
Many Zelda titles have target ranges as minigames and then there's Link's Crossbow Training.
Blade Runner has an optional target range in police station you can visit, though it's unplayable on modern computers because the targets flip so fast that you can't even see them.

Resident Evil 4 has an incredibly fun one to get the amazing bottle caps.
Policenauts had one too, if I'm not mistaken.
Day of Crisis also has one to unlock some stuff.

Like Policenauts, Snatcher also had a shooting range.

-Deus Ex has a shooting range, complete with an orange loving, lemon lime hating German for an instructor -Gemini Rue has a shooting range section as an introduction/tutorial for the cover shooting mini-game (for an adventure game, of all things) -Thief: The Dark Project, I guess (it's technically an archery range) -System Shock 2 has a non-functional shooting range on the Von Braun's Operations Deck (as in, you can't use it and it's there for world building purposes)

There's one brief section in Tomb Raider 3 outside of Lara's Home in the courtyard. It's not very involving, knowing Lara's ability to auto-aim.

Yakuza: Dead Souls has two: one where you stand in a booth (and auto-aim is disabled), and another where you run an obstacle course on a time limit. Both of them give experience points when used...to your partner.
[edit] And it's all run by the series' recurring Token Black Guy, Gary Buster Holmes.

Since I just started playing it (and already got someone killed, lulz), Until Dawn also introduces its shooting mechanics via a target range. It even checks if you are a sane person or psychopath in the making by letting you shoot a quirrel or not. Then they check if you got how to aim and "shoot" with a snowball fight shortly thereafter, but that's for another thread.

There's a target range in the original Dead Space, which you can play through upon discovering it for some kind of reward (I think it might just be an achievement, but it's been awhile since I played it). Also, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker has a target range inside your base, which lets you mess around in it to your heart's content. (MGS: Peace Walker spoilers) It's also secretly key to discovering the secret final boss/ending.
