I hate how both the PS2 versions of TMNT Smash-Up and Godzilla Unleashed ended up being the lesser ones. Wii version of Smash-Up had Fugitoid as a playable character (who was only a cutscene/plot character in the PS2 version) and the Wii version of Unleashed had more characters, like King Caesar and Biollante, whereas the PS2's exclusive was a clone character. Wii Godzilla Unleashed is shit. It's motion controls only, and they make playing it a giant pain.

(and a little later the ad for the white PSP with the white woman threateningly gripping the neck of a black woman, THAT would go over real well today) That was only in the Netherlands, but I'm convinced whoever came up with that shit was a straight-up white supremacist. Who would even think of associating the color of the PSP to the race of their model, and specifically think to put her in a dominant and aggressive position over a black woman next to the slogan "white is coming", unless they were racist as shit? I'm sure it drew the usual "it's not racist, you're all oversensitive" defenses, but it's just too obvious to pretend it's not there. I've literally seen Nazi propaganda that was more subtle. And you're right about everything else. I wasn't paying much attention at the time, so I only vaguely remember it. Sony dug their own hole, basically. I know it wasn't in the US but the racist PSP ad was still an international news story, it was controversial then but I can't even imagine the outrage it would cause today, I mean it would probably literally kill Playstation flat out. And yeah, whoever made it knew what they were doing, I don't know whether because they were racist or they just thought it was "edgy" and would get attention (they were right on that front) And do yourself a favor and look up the "all I want for Christmas is my PSP!" Youtube video, it's hilarious, Sony wanted you to think it wasn't an ad but a legit viral video of a "teenager" (who's clearly a 20 something) rapping "PEE ES PEE, PEE ES PEE, ALL I WANT FO CHRISTMAS IS MAH PEE ES PEE!" in order to convince his parents of just how amazing the Sony PSP tm is and why they should buy him one for Christmas, this was 2006, you'd think Sony would be more concerned with selling the PS3 that everyone hated and wanted to take a gigantic shit on, but no, just what they need, more bad PR about how Sony is literally lying to you! There was a similar thing with the PSP the year prior where they hired graffiti artists to paint PSP themed graffiti in cities that of course you weren't supposed to realize was paid ads but it was instantly revealed they were, the whole thing came off like a white businessman going "Yo, dawg, da PSP is some phat ass shit holmes, know what I'm sayin'?" That's what funny about the PS3's bumpy start is a lot of it just came down to marketing, Sony had phenomenally shitty marketing at the time, contrast it with the early PS4 ads which were well done and cool, no crying baby dolls. The hype for the system ALONE killed the Dreamcast. The DC was doomed no matter what, but I was a huge fan of it. The first year of the PS2 was pretty rough. I remember reading the launch lineup review in EGM and thinking "NOTHING here appeals to me." I know I was offered the chance to get a DC for Christmas 2000 but without hesitation I chose the PS2 instead. And don't act like it wasn't the smart move, even though the first year of the PS2 was rough, had I gone with the Dreamcast I would have been stuck with an obsolete console in less than a year. It's a shame but I really don't see how the Dreamcast could have worked, by the time the Gamecube and Xbox would also come out there's no way the market would have supported 4 consoles especially when one of them would have been already dated, maybe it could be a different story had Microsoft not entered the fray but even then Sega probably would have had to release a new console in 2002 if they wanted to compete with even just Sony and Nintendo. I never got to play them online but I had a lot of fun with them, that first scenario in the first Outbreak where you escape the bar and make your through the streets of Racoon City is one of all time favorite moments in any Resident Evil game, the zoo scenario in File 2 is cool as well. But I've never been able to beat the final scenario in either game because they just go on for too long, the fact that you're always slowly dying due to the infection just screws you over.

Outbreak requires a lot of practice, which I guess is supposed to mitigate the fact that there aren't very many levels. This will be one of the first things I fire up once my OSSC and MCFreeBoot arrive!

True, but the final scenarios are the only ones I've really struggled with, usually I can beat the other ones in just one go.

IME, it helps to use the Japanese girl for the extra inventory space she provides. Time is a pretty big issue on those levels, though. If you can beat Dark Souls, though, you can definitely finish off Outbreak!

The Wii version had more playable Kaiju and some of the best designed ones in the series but they killed any fun the game could of had been making it have terrible motion controls only. The DS version of Unleashed plays like that NES Godzilla game but uses a really ugly low poly 3D cel shaded models. For some reason you fight a Sphinx,Manda and Hedora as bosses though there not playable or in any other version of the game. It always bugged me they wasted 3 Character Slots in TMNT Smash-Up for Rabbids yet did not put Krang in. It always bugged they has Never beebn a single game in that series where you could play as Krang my favorite character.

Wii version had a Technodrome based level though and another stupid thing about Wii version of Godzilla Unleashed is. It only had the Final wars version of Gigan yet PS2 version had the original instead listed as a console exclusive. Why was not both in all versions after all they had 3 Mecha Godzilla's in both.

There is a slew of early Wii games that are ports of PS2 ones, that not just have motion controls on the Wii, but don't offer the "normal" control scheme of the sister game as an option. Always made me wonder if Nintendo for the first years had Third Parties contractionally obligated to mandatorily use the console's gimmick controls, if they wanted to develop for/port to it.

If there was anything I wish more of from PS2, it would be more 3rd-party software support for the Eyetoy peripheral. Criminally under-implemented.

If you can beat Dark Souls, though, you can definitely finish off Outbreak! She was always the most practical pick for that reason alone, along with the Tom Cruise lookalike for his gun and general hardiness. But I always liked playing Cindy, the waitress, because she was the cutest. If there was anything I wish more of from PS2, it would be more 3rd-party software support for the Eyetoy peripheral. Criminally under-implemented. Yes, the Eyetoy was way ahead of it's time. Never got to try it myself because like you said, there was barley anything for it, but it did seem like some wasted potential.

There were other PR disasters like when they sued an importer company for selling Japanese PSPs in the US before the official US release date, which made them look like a big ole bully. Was the Lik-Sang? (though I think that company might've been sued for importing PS3s to Europe after the delayed EU launch date) I'm guessing Sony probably wanted them out for selling mod-chips and used console importation as an excuse.

Surely Nintendo could've offered the GameCube controls in Twilight Princess Wii as an option, but nope, they had to force the motion controls.
