I'm currently reading a book titled Bad Days in History with the subtitle "A gleefully grim chronicle of misfortune, mayhem and misery for every day of the year." The one thing that intrigues me the most so far is how a water park in New Jersey called Action Park was opened on May 26, 1978 and for like 20 years it stayed in business. The thing is it was notoriously dangerous with it's rides having a lack of safety regulations dangerous designs (the park allowed visitors to choose how there experience would be with a rides a choose your own adventure sort I guess) and alcoholic beverages even being served to under aged people! Accidents happened all the time. Victims were often drunk and some deaths did happen. With all this happening I wonder why the hell this place wasn't even shut down until 20 years later. I live in the upper part of Ohio where Cedar Point is (A place with rides and amusement stuff which is the worlds most popular one) and can't recall the last time hearing bad stuff happening there. Belows a article I found on a search.... www.history.com/news/the-rise-and-fall-of-action-park-new-jerseys-most-dangerous-water-park

Given that it was New Jersey, I can only assume it stayed open thanks to some Tony Soprano types greasing some palms.
The whole thing does scream "Paulie Walnuts B-story"
