With the new year comes new expectations of what gaming has to offer us. Specifically, new releases. What is everyone looking forward to the most? I’ll start: 1) Resident Evil 2 remake. I loved the original and would place it in my top ten easily. I still remember renting it with my brother 20 years ago from blockbuster. This remake is almost a new game. 2). Bloodstained Ritual of Night. Word is it will get released this year, despite no actual release date. 3) Kingdom Hearts 3. I have always enjoyed this simple, fun series, with a few exceptions. It’s been a long time coming. 4) Gears 5. Co op (story mode) with my brother is a favored past time and this looks to fill the ever increasing gap. 5) cyberpunk 2077. Tentatively putting this here because I’m not convinced it will be released this year regardless of what wiki says. I’m sure I’ve forgotten some, and there are others that look interesting but not exactly in the same level as this enlisted above (Cose Vein, Daemons x Machina) What is everyone else looking forward to the most?

Metro Exodus - I have doubts with the open world structure but I'm sure it will be good still. Animal Crossing Switch - This will be the point where i cave on getting a Switch and I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of the few games I got for it to be honest. I got 1000+ hours out of New Leaf on the 3DS. Judgment (Judge Eyes) - Yakuza has become one of my favorite series since I got into it with 0 and I'll be here for anything including spin-offs. Resident Evil 2 remake - I'm one of the huge RE fans who wasn't huge on RE7 so I'm excited for this with some reservations. I'm not completely sold on how dark everything looks as I think part of the appeal of the original game was the colors and the like mixed with the enemies/horror aspects creating an unnerving sense of something wrong.

Not a chance in hell of Cyberpunk coming out this year. I was sure it was slated for 2020.
My list is: DOOM Eternal. Let's rock. Again. Metro Exodus. I'm always a sucker for the atmospheric first person games I can lose myself in, and have enjoyed the first two games in this series. The Outer Worlds. I'm pretty optimistic as to what Obsidian can do with this one. The Pathless looks pretty great SABLE has sold me on the art style, but we'll see what happens with the game itself.
UNTITLED. GOOSE. GAME. Enough said.
... Void Bastards looks pretty cool too.

I don't know if it will get released this year, but:
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
While I'm not following Resident Evil 2 too closely, I will try out the demo getting released this Friday.

Tales of Vesperia- I refused to buy the burn out prone 360 back in the day and now I finally get to play this on a PlayStation. Eleven years later. This week even! Fire Emblem: Three Houses - Not much known about this one. Hopefully better than Fates. Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth - Localization please?!?!?!?!? Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III - With the PS4 updates of I and II releasing early this year I'm thinking we may get an end of year release for this one. Maybe. Might not be until 2020. Hell for all I know no one is working on it. I don't know if it will get released this year, but: 13 Sentinels: Aegis RimThis is a good one too. I forget it exists outside of the occasional pretty artwork piece they release.

I don't think there is anything I'm absolutely hyped for coming out. Though I'm really looking forward to Dauntless, actually. I'll also probably eventually get REmake 2, Yakuza 5, Shenmue III, Tales of Vesperia and Ys IX once they are on sale. Persona Q2 and Dragon Quest Builders 2 if I hear that they improved a lot over the previous games. Animal Crossing would be really cool, since I lost like 300 hours to New Leaf, but a single game is hardly justifying getting a whole console for, and I don't have the regular free time anymore the rigid real time progression of the franchise demands anyways.

Bloodstained Daemon X Machina Dragon Quest Builders 2 Final Fantasy XII on Switch Yoshi's Crafted World
It'd be nice if SMTV comes this year, but I doubt it.
There's also Urðr Hunt, a Gundam:IBO spinoff, but that a mobile game with no release date so who knows if it'll be good, come out this year or be available in English.

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is probably the one I'm waiting for the most. I'm curious to see what Animal Crossing, Pokémon gen 8 and Metroid Prime 4 are all about too. And I'm kind of tempted to pick up Yoshi's Crafted World at launch. Beyond that I would love to play Shadows Die Twice and DOOM Eternal, but the former I can't play on any system, and for the latter I really should play DOOM 2016 first. On the indie front the stand-outs are Spelunky 2 and UFO 50... UNTITLED. GOOSE. GAME. Enough said. ... and this one. Looking forward to this one so much.

Daemon x Machina Dragon Quest Builders 2 Bloodstained - Hyped after playing the 8bit game, I"ll trust IGA on this project. Transiruby - Also Picontier. I like to play Skipmore's games. Actually let me just state I'll put most Flyhighworks/Circle titles on wishlist. My favorite indie publisher. Streets of Rage 4 Destiny Connect - Looks charming like a Dreamcast/PS2 era JRPG. Gunvolt Chronicles Mineko's Night Market
If this year: SMTV Bayonetta 3

As far as what's probably going to release in 2019, The Outer Worlds for sure, followed up by Bloodstained.
For what we hope releases in 2019 well The Last of Us Part 2, Death Stranding and Cyberpunk 2077.

The trailer is for the Prologue, which lets you play the first 3 hours, so a paid demo more or less. Hard to say if that's a sign of them doing good progress or in need of a financial aid to progress at all.

Anything from these:
It will be hard to choose from a barrage of good looking and sounding games what's coming this year.

I want: Fire Emblem: Three Houses Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Resident Evil 2 (REmake 2) Doom Eternal Ion Maiden Phoenix Point (hopefully, anyways...) maybe some other games I'm forgetting too Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III - With the PS4 updates of I and II releasing early this year I'm thinking we may get an end of year release for this one. Maybe. Might not be until 2020. Hell for all I know no one is working on it. It would be nice to see, but I'm more hoping for announcements of the Crossbell duology being localized, since I've heard that unlike the first two Cold Steel games, Cold Steel III and IV are harsher about expecting you to be familiar with those games' stories in order to follow along with everything. :s
