WARNING: Read only if you are bored ;D
Hey everyone. I just realized that I sort of appeared out of nowhere, blathering about PC-Engine and asking for help and whatnot. I was originally going to type this long-arse rant about how I love to play random old obscure games most people haven't heard of-- but seeing as how I post here you can already assume that (and assume correctly!).
... and guess what? I'm going to rant anyway! (sorry, folks...). However, instead of rattling off games-- I like this game... and totally dig that game... and... and oh MAN this game is GREAT!-- I'll just tell y'all other random stuff.
I used to go outside. I really did! I actually didn't play very many games back in the day; nor did I know of very many. I sorta bought a game here and there based on the cover art and what the back of he box said. However, when I moved to New York around age 11 the terrain was different... the people... were different. It was nothing like Kentucky. I felt no desire to venture outside and face strangers in a strange land. So, I looked at that Playstation thingy I bought.... hm....
For a three-month stretch (it was during summer break before my first year at Middle School) I talked to no one. I met no one. I just sat there and played Star Ocean: The Second Story far longer than nature intended (however long that is...). Then, our family finally got an up-to-date computer and this "internet" thing appeared. I stumbled upon GameFAQs (and other gamin' sites) and gazed at the computer screen until it hurt to shift my eyeballs. It was basically like discovering the lost city of Atlantis-- almost too good to be true; an infinite wealth of video game knowledge... I then subscribed to EGM-- read the Top 100 games of all time list which led me to my "old-game crusade" and the rest is history.
I also have a short attention span and I often read the last paragraph of anything first. So: My name is Justin (as you can... kind of already tell). I say hello. I used to not play video games, then I did-- and now I do. I have a cat named Cleopatra and I do not watch anime or read manga of any kind... because I am lazy and have yet to investigate that alien universe.
RANDOM GAME STATS:
-I own 296 video games; spanning 11 systems. The first game I got was Super Mario Bros. 3 for the NES... 14 years later and it still works.
-220 of my games predate the PS2/GC/XBOX era.
-47 of those 296 videogames were imported from Japan and are, of course, in Japanese. And one system, my PC-Engine, was also imported.
-I own soundtracks from 6 video games; imported from Japan.
-I have 7 years-worth of EGM issues; that's not including the countless Nintendo Power magazines (and Dreamcast.. and gamefan... and gamepro... and gameinformer... and all those other ones that start with "game").
-I have over 30 strategy guides; published over the course of 15 years. And yes, I have a strategy guide for Earthworm Jim 2. (but why?)
-And lastly, I am not ashamed
Thank you for your time. Hopefully all these words did not cause any injury-- as they were very boring. If you bashed your head against a wall, or cut your eyes out... or anything to that degree, I apologize.
Regards,
Jimmy... er... Justin
