I'm wondering if anyone might know of any verifiable information related to the existence of 의적 임꺽정 (Euijeok: Im Kkeokjeong), the purported Korean version of 搖滾少林系列 七俠五義3D (Rock'n Shaolin: Legend of the Seven Paladins 3D).
For some time, I was thinking that the article "A History of Korean Gaming" at Hardcore Gaming 101 might have offered some proof, but the screenshots on that page are from the demo version of Lo7P. The article page that I'm referring to is located here:
www.hardcoregaming101.net/korea/part2/company-twim.htm
I have seen one Korean gaming magazine article that talks about TWIM and SKC Soft Land's planned Korean localized version of the game, but this article is also pre-release and uses screenshots from the Chinese version.
There is a pcgamingwiki web page that mentions that TWIM intended to add an 8th character to the game which is kind of interesting as we know that Lo7P only has 7. This page is located here:
www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Rock%27n_Shaolin:_Legend_of_the_Seven_Paladins_3D
Somethings just don't add up however no matter how much I search for information that can prove that this Korean version was actually ever finished. After some 20+ years or so of searching, I've yet to come across a single piece of evidence that can irrefutably prove that TWIM ever finished what they started.
There is an image on the "A History of Korean Gaming" page that purports to be a disc or box (it isn't specified) cover for the Korean version that has the SKC Soft Land logo on it, but what seems out of place is that this image has 7 characters shown in the image, and not 8 as should probably be the case if TWIM had completed the work that they were planning to do.
Also, there are many zip files floating around on the Internet that claim (within the zip file's filename) to be the full version of Euijeok, yet there is nothing at all in the game files or any included text files/documents that has a single mention of TWIM or SKC, there are also no Korean language text files in the archives... There's just nothing. The game itself is represented as being Lo7P (The original Chinese version).
One thing that is interesting though is that at the start of a new game, where you select the character that you'll be playing as, there is an 8th blank wall after the initial 7 characters that are displayed, and you can select this wall as a character (all 3 meters appear empty) and enter the game with it.
I'm getting the general impression that this might not be Euijeok, but it likely is Rock'n Shaolin with some tangible signs of proof that this has the initial framework for the 8th character, put in there by Accend, which was supposed to be worked on by TWIM to have the 8th character added in fully (but there's no sign that this was ever actually done).
So while there are certainly magazine articles, and at least one indication within the game that supports the presumption that TWIM fully intended to make a Korean version of the game with an additional character, I have yet to actually see hard proof that this was ever done.
