Tecmo Bowl II for the Arcade, does it exist?

Here's a question I've got, just in time for the Super Bowl:

GameFaqs lists Tecmo Bowl II for the Arcades in 1988. Did it actually happen? I can't seem to find it.

I'm leaning towards no. All I can find are low information vintage ads on eBay and a page on Arcade Museum with no cabinet pic. I would have figured there'd be some scrap of the actual hardware if it did get released.

My guess is the game was in development and then cancelled before it was shown to anyone.
