Demo recordings in Japanese commercials?

Was it common to use the original demo recordings in Japanese commercials? Below are two examples:
At 1:30 is a commercial for Return of Double Dragon. If you listen closely, you can hear the demo version of what was intended to be the cut-scene theme. The game was never properly finished when it came out.
The Japanese commercial for Mega Man 3 with an awesome cover of Snake Man's theme. But could it actually have been the original demo if the above example is true?
I think it's something to think about and go, "hmmmmm...".
