Your opinions on sprite comics, specifically "mishmash" sprite comics with sprites from many different games?
Also, what would be the best way to make decent-looking textboxes considering I only have MSPaint and Graphics Gale?

Honestly... my opinions on sprite comics are pretty low... even to this day. The reason is, in order to essentially create a sprite comic... you don't need artistic talent. You don't need a sence of visual design at all. You don't even need original ideas for characters and settings. You don't need anything. Usually... they pan out as something like "What if guilty gear characters went to court?! PHEONIX WRIGHT COULD BE THEIR LAWER!".. and since all the characters, images, and scenarios are already there... you could just insert F-bombs and "your mother" jokes as the punchline. Because they're so easy to do... often times somebody will read one... and realize they can do it too... so they'll either use ancient jokes, tired fads, or dirty humor to fill in the gaps where geniune creativity should go.
Are there exceptions? Yes. But do they outnumber the CRAP?! Nope. The difference between that and drawn comics is that normally effort is needed to make a finished product. Even if they artwork is bad... it still needs to be made. Sprites get reused over and over and don't need to be created in the first place. So it's a cop-out.
As far as CRAP goes... Sprite comics are second on my list... they're still miles behind fan-fiction.
What makes a good sprite comic? Relying on actuall HUMOR for one... you know... not just having a panel rely on dirty words and old inside jokes. It can happen...

Heres something I whipped up in a few minutes in paint. I may finish it or something, but it's just detailing some text boxes. You can you use things like the PC info boxes from Metroid Fusion, as using the resources you are given is an important part.

If you're going to create textboxes, I reccommend using that square tool that gives them rounded corners, sure, it's been used to no oblivion, but it's a classic, and looks pretty good, too.

You tend to get the best results with text-boxes if you round them off yourself.

Well, if I do decide to make a sprite comic it would be with the intention of telling a story, not relying on utterly shit jokes.
My only real problem with sprite comics is coming up with good dialogue. So don't expect anything from me anytime soon.
