I'm Brian, a 30 year old retrogamer that has been around HG101 for only a year. I accidentally run into the website and inspired by it decided to write my 2 first articles: OutRun and Irem, which after lots of editing Discoalucard accepted to publish. A couple of months later I decided to go solo with BlameTheControlpad.com, and nowadays I owe HG101 a lot for getting me into what is now one of my favorite hobbies. I was deep into the fighting scene of the 90's, participating in tournaments and challenging anybody for a good fight. Ahhh the good times...

Yo. I'm Pat. 23 years old, DIRTY JERZ resident, graduated college fairly recently with a BA in English (minor in creative writing). Up until today I was an assistant editor at an industrial publishing company ("industrial" as in forklifts and gaskets, not Skinny Puppy and Throbbing Gristle), but I quit because it was making me hate being alive. NOBODY KNOWS WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS FOR ME I guess you could say I'm a fan of the old school, as far as video games (and pretty much everything else, come to think of it) go. The very first game I remember playing is Ms. Pac Man. I also seem to have some rather fond fragmented memories of playing Megamania on my parents' old Atari 2600. I'm pretty sure I was beating King Hippo in Mike Tyson's Punch Out before learning how to tie my shoes. About two years ago I did a writeup of my 25 favorite video games for my friend's website. It's full of typos and outdated (Xbox Ninja Gaiden probably shouldn't be there, in retrospect), but it'll give you a good idea of my taste in games, if you're really concerned about that kind of thing.

Bonjour. Justin Denniston Warkentin. An average white kid in white-picket-fence suburbia. In college, no job, no driver's license (awesome combination). Coasting through life at the moment facing no challenges or obligations whatsoever. I'm big on art and love to play difficult games. I'm not a standout character around these boards. I just post here and there.
Favorite genres include shoot-em-ups/2d action games and incredibly slow-paced RPGs. I've also have a thing for Moais. I sculpt 'em, paint 'em, draw 'em. Props to any game that uses them... they have a special place in my book. That very important book.

Hi I'm sukotsuto, hardcore gamer for life! I love lots of games, especially those underappreciated games and hidden gems. I'm co-webmaster of www.abyssalchronicles.com, Namco's "Tales of..." RPG series that's very popular in Japan but not much in the US. I'm also a staff member of www.neogeoforlife, a site some of you SNK fans already know I love all the articles being made in Hardcore Gaming 101 and it had been my basis for trying out some of the classic games. To be honest, I was just a lurker and had registered here nearly a year ago, but it was only now that I decided to post

Hi, I'm woogins, and I fashion myself to be a hardcore player of games. I'm a 17 year old from Ohio, who will play whatever games I can get my hands on. I too tend to be cheap in my dealings, and hardly buy anything new, unless it's on sale. I'm real particular to Shmups and Action RPGs, and won't play too many sports games (unless the sport is tennis or curling). I'm a huge fan of this site and use at a constant basis as a lurker, but now I hope I can post something useful here!

Just joined, I've been reading this site alot ever since a members linked to it at a Nintendo fan site/review called Nintelligent, which I used to be one of the writers for. I enjoyed the articles enough that I eventually built up the courage to take a look at the forums, and after lurking for awhile I think this would be a nice place to settle in for the time being (I migrate to different forums about yearly, so I needed this years fulfillment of that personal status quo.)
Anyways, real name is Jeremiah Fling (yes... Fling) and I'm 19 years of age and have always had an interest in the art of games, old and new. My favorite genres would be Shooters (Gradius/R-type) RPGs, Flight combat sims, and Action adventure games. I'm also getting into fighting games to a degree. But besides those I like anything else in between so long as the gameplay is good or it has good art direction.
outside of games, I'm an artist and a writer, both of which I'm not very well establish as (In my own feelings) but I'm attending Collins college to get a Bachelors in Gameart so I have hope of refining my skill greatly in the next three years (or at least I hope, otherwise I wasted alot of money.)
And as you can see I have a tendency to ramble, but I can put leash on it so don't worry. Really I more like to read what others have to say than speak myself but my behaviors will still depend on alot, but whatever the case I'll try to avoid being annoying the best I can.
(BTW, Wild Weasel, I remember someone from a place called Edge Emulation with that same name. Did you attend that place as well? Just curious.)
I have many fandoms, but right now I'm flipping out over Metal Slug, and my avatar is supposed to be Tarma... not Micheal Jackson, but I use it as my avie everywhere since the cheesy grin kills me. (Yes I drew it.)

I'm Mia, mostly a lurker here. I love video game trivia and history, particularly 8 and 16 bit generations. I'm 18 and was only a wee-one during those eras. I looked at envy at the games at Toys 'R Us but never got any due to the price. I want to learn about the generations I "missed". Sprite artwork is so pretty. As for games, my first system was the N64 (a gift from my uncle after his Christmas bonus). I received a lot more systems since then. My favorite games are Animal Crossing, Kingdom Hearts, the Pokemon RPGs, the Sonic the Hedgehog sidescrollers, Katamari Damacy, Drill Dozer...I like games that are bright, colorful and kinda kiddie . My avatar is Jill from Drill Dozer (she's so adorable!). I want her to be in SSBB!

I'm new here. My real name is Austin McGary. I (currently) have no job, but I'm looking for one. Some of my favorite genres are shmups, beat em ups, RPGs, platformers (mostly 2d platformers), and sometimes fighting games, although I'm not all that good at them.

My real name is Michael Cheek, I live in Woodstock,GA. I like to play video games and draw. Right now I'm studying to get my GED and hopefully go to a film school or art school to pursue my dreams of creating awesome movies/cartoons. I really want to make something original, and right now I am in the middle of the brainstorm process of my first project.

I'm making a film this year actually. I've never told you guys that I'm actually the president of the film club and treasurer of the screenwriting club at Rutgers University, have I? Lol, it's pretty funny how I keep my two big obsessions pretty separate but still am able to keep up with them both.

I'm Matt. 22 years old and I live and go to college in New Jersey. I'm an RL friend of Kurt's, who went to the same college I do (although he graduated 2 semesters before I started going there). I'm about a semester away from graduating myself. I'm a Communication Arts major with a Journalism concentration and I'll probably get into Copy Editing when I graduate, just to get my feet wet.
Other little details about my life: I was born in Brooklyn, NYC. I still feel a cultural bond with the place despite not having lived there since I was 2. My interests outside of video games include music, anime/manga, comics, professional wrestling, and movies. Favorite TV shows include 24 (not counting the craptacular 6th season), LOST, The Simpsons, Daily Show, Colbert Report, Late Night With Conan O'Brien, and Scrubs, as well as WWE and TNA programming. I'm also involved in a relationship that's been going for over 2 1/2 years.
Video game-wise, my favorite genres are RPG's, Action/Adventure, Action, FPS, Platformers, Fighting, and some rhythm action (mainly DDR and Guitar Hero) and shmups, though I'll pretty much play anything that isn't an RTS, sports sim, or sim racer. Favorite series and games include Castlevania, Metroid, Valkyrie Profile, Tales of the Abyss, Shadow Hearts, Guitar Hero, Street Fighter, and King of Fighters.

I'm Drew, I live and go to school in Richmond, Virginia. I'm a friend of Onyx/Matt's, though me met years ago through the magic of the internets. I should be graduating form school soon, though having changed majors at the beginning of this year seems to have tacked on at least another year to my time at school, much to my dismay. Until the beginning of the past semester, I was a theater major/Pscholog minor, but common sense finally crept on me and I switched it to a slightly more practical Psychology major/Theater minor.
And now, here's some random information:
Born in: Atlanta, Georgia Interests: Games, Music, Anime, Comics, voice acting, reading, photography Favourite TV Shows: Heroes, Scrubs, LOST, Family Guy, The Colbert Report Favourite Comics: Gen13, Birds Of Prey, Secret Six, Justice Society Of America, Cable & Deadpool, anything with the Great Lakes Avengers Favourite Bands: The Delgados, The Juliana Theory, Flowing Tears, Bad Religion, The Cruxshadows, The Birthday Massacre, Brand New, Death Cab For Cutie Favourite Anime: Read Or Die, King Of Braves: GaoGaiGar, Mai-HiME, El Hazard: The Magnificent World, Gurren Lagann, Cromartie High School Favourite Video Games: Phantasy Star (Series), Final Fantasy IV, Fire Emblem (series), Xenogears/Saga (series), Digital Devil Saga 1&2, Tales Of (series), Parasite Eve, Seiken Densetsu (Series), Growlanser (series), Guitar Hero (series), King Of Fighters (series), Castlevania (Series), Silent Hill (Series), Suikoden (Series), Shining Force (Classic series, none of the shit they put out now), Wild ARMs (Series), Skies Of Arcadia, Threads Of Fate, Super Robot Wars (Series) Current Job: None, save some upcoming freelance photography work.

Finally, I've found someone who knows about and enjoys Threads of Fate. That was the first Playstation game I ever owned, and I still play it from time to time. I think it's the characters that keep me coming back - somehow they manage to grow past their stereotypes and be genuinely interesting.
