I'd love to but I can't because Atma is a doodyhead.

Woah. That's some foul language. Is this that ban thing you where talking about?

I said doodyhead. When you start hearing noises from sea animals instead of what I'm actually saying, then you know I'm using foul language.

Is that a Spongebob Squarepants reference?
Weird.
When you start hearing realistic comments instead of sarcasm coming from me you know you're in hell.

I'd love to but I can't because Atma is a doodyhead. That channel maxes out at about 2-4 people... were you really banned?

That's very puerile. Their attitude is obviously not representative of these forums.

I have been given mod permission to speak politely on this issue as it is bothering me somewhat on a personal level.
After Ashelin went AWOL, I re-registered the room under my name, making me the owner/head admin of the room for as long as I can personally maintain it, which will be at least for another long while still. I do this for free. Nobody asked me to, I don't get special forum status, I don't get site bonuses for running the room. It is just the best situation right now as I run another room on the same server and have vast knowledge of IRC and years of modding/admin experience.
So, of course, as leader, I have to instate rules. The forum here itself is incredibly lenient and easy-going to begin with, but since IRC is a free moving chat on a server with very few rules, I set it so the only rule as "Don't be an asshole." Arguments arise in the room, yes, but most everyone resolves these problems rather quickly.
This brings me to the banning of Isao. Yes, it was me who banned him. I did it. It was my decision. Although the room belongs to the site, it also belongs to my name. Until then, I saw very little reason for additional moderators. What happened was Pitchfork locked one of Isao's forum topics. Isao came into the IRC and started being incredibly rude towards Pitchfork. We tried to settle things, but I was called a couple rather disparaging things as well. While those words don't upset me, the fact I got dragged into something that didn't involve me did. So he was banned. My decision was backed by the other chat mod, Onyx, and Pitchfork - a forum mod. I will not be lifting the ban anytime soon myself, so if you want another chance, talk to someone else.
I find it extremely rude that several of you would call me puerile and unfair when you did not know the whole story. As a mod, I know my responsibilities. If the HG101 IRC room was a private room for no site in particular, then yes, ignoring would be a much easier, more viable option. But it isn't. The room is connected to the site and we have to maintain a certain degree of professionalism as the other parts of HG101 do.
Now look, I'm terribly sorry I had to ban you, but it was agreed on. You broke the rule. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time, etc. If you can calm yourself and quit this behavior, you may be allowed to come back in. We don't want to ban anyone as much as you all don't want to be banned.
You all can still view me unfair or juvenile because of this. I don't care. I can't force you to change your minds. But to take sides on an incident that you did not witness, especially if you're extremely rarely in the room (or not even there at all), is unfair to us IRC mods who work and supervise to keep a nice fun channel going in our spare time to be called out in such a manner.
And yes, the room is never that full. Not everyone in the world uses IRC. Ever since the room was initially founded by Ashelin, it has been somewhat barren, but those of us who go are there every single day we can be. We do talk. How many people are in there is not an indication of how good the chat quality is.
Please, give us a chance and understand that action is sometimes needed, whether we enjoy the results or not.
Thank you for your time.

What, you'd rather me cuss my head off than act all nonchalant about it?

I STILL LOVE YOU ATMA STFU ISAO But honestly, if you did those things you should probably smarten up. You're really just acting even more immature about things which honestly justifies your ban. Just try to be cool, and ask for it back later.

I love how nobody ever even attempts to see my side of the story on anything on this forum.
