Although I still sometimes prefer the old-school sound of games, I will admit that there have been some really damn bitching arranged versions of tunes, especially from the offices of SNK. Can anyone recommend anything arranged that I've gotta listen to? It doesn't just have to be from SNK, although that's where I know most of the good arranged stuff is at. I've also heard there are about a jillion different arranged Street Fighter 2 albums. Is there any one of those that are head and shoulders above the rest? Just recommend any cool arranged soundtracks that you think kick the anus.

There's an arranged soundtrack of F-Zero X containing real guitars - it's really awesome. I also really like the arranged Aria of Sorrow tracks from the Lament of Innocence sampler disc.

The Konami Battle albums immediately come to mind. Plenty of face melting, hard rock arranges of Castlevania and Konami Shmup music to go around.

Although it's technically an OST, the Oath in Felghana soundtrack could also be considered an arrangement of the original Ys III soundtrack. In that sense, I think it's probably one of the best arranged STs out there.

I thought of a few others..
Xenogears: CREID Street Fighter II: Alpha Lyla Street Fighter II: Starting Over Hyper Rogue Galaxy Premium Arrange Phantasy Star Online I & II Premium Arrange Final Fantasy: The Black Mages 1 and 2
A few others I can think of... Namco x Capcom has a ton of awesome arranged songs from a bunch of Namco and Capcom games. Almost all of them are really good. And in a situation similar to Ys III, the Minstrel Song OST is an arrangement of the original Romancing SaGa soundtrack, and it totally fucking kicks ass.

Yeah, but the Romancing SaGa music has always kicked ass to begin with.

Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 has amazing arranged music on Fatal Fury Battle Archives 2. I haven't found an OST with those songs, which blows ass.

Sadly, the tracks aren't labeled, but the entire soundtrack can be found here: gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/597Actually, it's the Real Bout Fatal Fury Special soundtrack, but that's almost the same thing... minus Alfred's music, but here's how I fix that! gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/700

F-Zero... REAL GUITAR! Awesome.
Not official but you should check out Street Fighter II Champion Edition Blood on The Asphault.
There's more than just Dracula Battle Perfect Selection. What other things are there?

GGX Heavy Rock Tracks comes to mind. If you played GGX on the Dreamcast you've heard this. One of the rare instances where I vastly prefer the AST over the OST for every track.
With SNK, I don't even know where to begin. I think I have more SNK cds than I do game music in general. Fatal Fury 3 AST is probably the best overall from that series. KoF '96, Samurai Shodown III (this one's awesome because instead of having a separate drama cd the dialog and music is all on one disk!) and Last Blade 1 are also must listens.
