Since Sega-Parts.com is completely out of stock of these, and no stores in the neighborhood have any, I am unable to use this bargain-priced (read: entirely cable-free) Sega CD. This is the Model 2 version (the one intended for the Genesis Model 2), in case that changes anything regarding which adapter I need. So if anybody happens to have a spare one lying around somewhere, or knows a better place to get it for a relatively small amount of money, I would be quite happy.

I'm pretty sure it uses the same AC adapter as the average (Model 1) Genesis, if that helps. I usually alternate mine and they both work.

I'm a bit wary about that, considering that I learned in another thread here that I don't want to get a Model 2 Genesis' power cord by accident or else risk frying the Sega CD. So if I were to go that route, I'd have to make double-sure that I was, in fact, getting the Model 1's AC adapter and not the Model 2's.

Just do what I said: look at the bottom or back of the Genesis and the Sega CD. There you'll find the voltage, amperage, and polarity that the systems need to function. Every AC adapter has these labels as well so just match up the corresponding ones.

And the Model 2 Genesis AC adaptor has a yellow ring around the jack connecting it to the system(at least mine does).

Having grabbed an adapter from the local Game Trader (had to actually bring the whole system in for them to find a cable that would fit it), this is now resolved.
I would, however, like to know where to find a RAM cart...for a decent (i.e. under $50) price. =p
