In other news, tried a few Virtual Boy emulators with Wario Land and my pick for best one is VBjin. Hot diggity! I can finally play Wario Land? Does someone have a copy of the r102 binary somewhere? Apparently it used to be available here, but all the download links are kaput, and I've never tried to compile something like this from source.

A while ago, the source trees of MAME and MESS finally officially merged into a single emulator called UME. It is the definitive emulator, since it emulates pretty much everything that had a CPU (and even some things that didn't), is supremely configurable, and aims for accuracy and correctness above all else. It also has some crazy good looking video mode options, such as configurable GLSL/HLSL shaders which render the screen as if it were a curved, old tube TV. Totally authentic.

MESS certainly still isn't a substitute for a significant amount of other emulators, so I can hardly see how UME can be different. I think one might call it the definitive emulator project . The GLSH/HLSL stuff was confusing to use for me the last time I tried to play around with it. I probably try that another time, as I've seen some of the stuff you can do with shaders when trying Retroarch , and thought some looked really nice.

So, was just wondering
Is CD-i emulation still a steaming pile of shit ?
Also, the same question but with the Atari Jaguar.

Same question for 3DO

For 3DO emulation, you'll want FourDO. It runs most things alright, albeit maybe a bit slowly (though in a lot of cases it's going to be just as choppy on the real thing), and a couple of games just flat out don't read input from the controller (though some of them just have unskippable intros so be patient).

This may have been asked already (if so sorry, just point me to the answer) but are there any SNES emulators that work well in Widows 8? When I first got this computer I tried SNES9x and ZSNES but as far as I can tell nether has been updated in years. I found one in the app store but it was really made for a tablet and was all wonky and had controls on the screen. So anything for a 64bit Windows 8 machine?
Also, maybe one for the Neo Geo Pocket? I miss Card Fighters Clash.

Interesting. SNES9X works just fine on my 64 bit version of Windows 7. You're not entirely out of luck if it really isn't compatible with Windows 8, though. You could just set up a virtual machine with Windows 7 on it.

I've run it on Windows 8 (and ZSNES). I'd only run into a very small number of Windows 8 compatibility problems.

ZSNES works fine with Windows 8. I haven't had any problems.

Speaking of emulators, does anyone have any experience with Dreamcast emulation? I seem to be running into a lot of problems with all of the major options. Chankast runs waaaaay too fast, even with vsync turned on with my video card. Demul won't even start, it keeps saying there's no bios even when I have it in the folder. NullDC...does something else which escapes my sleep-deprived brain at the moment.
Just want to get these games up and working!

Just to make sure (with Demul), do you have the correct file (dc.zip) in the /roms/ subfolder? Demul seems to take a different BIOS from other DC emulators. I seem to recall it also takes different disc images (I had to find .chd images instead of the usual CDI/GDI). It's a MAME-style emulator.

Does anybody know of a working disk image of Nemesis 90 Kai that works with WinX68K High Speed (English Version)? Because I've never been able to get the one I have to work.
Failing that, an X68K emu that WILL work with it?
