Snatcher had several different soundtracks on the PC88 and MSX2 home computers, and on the PC Engine, Sega CD, Playstation and Saturn consoles.
That being said, which soundtrack is your all-time favorite?
By far, I would say the PC88 one. The music in that version was incredible for its time; the FM sound chip made the music sound so incredibly beautiful that I could listen to it for hours and hours. My favorite song from the original PC88 soundtrack is the 2-part ending theme.
My 2nd favorite would be the PC Engine one. I really don't understand why this soundtrack gets so much hate. I actually don't mind the redbook audio that this version mostly sported. In fact, many of the songs that were favorites among fans of the original PC versions, were featured here, and weren't featured in any version after the PC Engine version:
"Theme of Snatcher", "Theme of Randam", "Theme of Junker", "Theme of Jamie", "Entrance to Hell", "Theme of Izabel", "Faded Memories", "Theme of Katherine", "Blow Up Trycycle" "Eternal Promise" and "Beyond Sorrows", among others.
There is even a tune heard in the apartment scenes, that was changed in the Sega CD version, and IMO, I like the PC Engine one better. The original PC versions originally didn't have any music playing during the apartment scenes, and there originally wasn't any music during the HQ and Gibson's house scenes, either.
