Plus, 90's Capcom wasn't all that great. Yeah, Street Figher Alpha II was a real shitty game, which came right off the heals of Mega Man X. Good thing they got their shit together for Street Figher IV hey? Really, its not that big of a deal, but I get where zzz is coming from. It just seems kind of dumb to have to pay for these "Extra's" when we were getting them built into store copies during the PS2 era. Take Resident Evil 4, and its mercenaries mode; while it was unlockable in every release version, I am willing to bet had it come out in 2009, Capcom would have included it as a DLC add on. I get where you guys are coming from too, in that its still pretty cheap, and its really only meant for those who want to try it out. There are some pretty valid points on each side of the fence.

DLC is the worst fucking goddamn thing that ever happened to video games. I quite like the regular free updates to TF2, actually.

About DLC and the way i get around it paying only half of it : I go to my friends place and i buy it on my friends xbox, i go home and i download it again And he pays me half of it => both happy we only had to pay half of it But i agree DLC is mostly Bullshit, thanks to MS that we have to pay for every DLC. Thank GOD the DLC for Left4Dead is going to be FREE!!!!! but i still think EA takes the crown 1600MS for complete compititon roster for Fifa 09 on day one Come on Guys -_-

Ironic? I remember that we were all predicting that years ago. That said, I think people are taking this a bit far. Don't buy the DLC if you don't want it. Maybe if they stopped the sales of used games, I'd be far more inclined to despise this practice but right now, I just see it as a way to recoup all those lost sales opportunities when somebody goes to Gamestop to get a used game.
Now, those people have to buy this stuff now and give Capcom some tribute. Ultimately, it all just leads to 100% digital downloads, which is what all the companies have wanted all along (and which most oldschool gamers hate since there's no physical, longlasting object representing the game).

I think what people are gripping the most over is the fact that there is an extra cost incurred to those who want the entire experience.

That said, I personally like digital transactions becuase it (in the ideal situation) gives the most money to the developer... which is awesome for upstart companies. yeah paid DLC is silly, but when it's free it's awesome. The good news is most paid DLC is so superfluous you can get by without it completely and still enjoy the game.

Haha, I just got Duckhunt. Now for that there Zapper!
I like DLC, in SOME ways. If it CAN be on the disc then DO IT. If it can't, then sure, make it DLC.

I don't see why you posted that link to Monster Hunter being a subscription game on the Wii. It's an MMO, and with the exception of the PSP titles (which don't have long range multiplayer, only local) every other game in the series was similar.

And regular moster hunter for the ps2 was free to play online. I can understand a subscription for monster hunter frontier because is extensible and they add new monsters and weapons little by little and the towns are a hub for many people like Guild wars (that is several times more complete that monster hunter and dont have any kind of fee). Monster Hunter G seems to be just a port of the ps2 game.

The fee seems reasonable, and it's not like you're being forced to play the multiplayer portion of the game.

Multiplayer is the only reason to buy this game, otherwise I would play my copy of the ps2 game (that was free to play until they closed the servers, sight).
And for a better single player experience there is monster hunter 2 freedom united (and there are ways to play it online). And add the thing that this game is going to become totally obsolete once monster hunter 3 comes out.
PD: Anyway, this game is never going to be released in USA or Europe.

Actually, the SP in Monster Hunter is pretty much a tutorial.
Also, MP was free on the PS2...

Online MH was only free outside Japan. Every MH with online has required a subscription fee in Japan, and seeing as MH Frontier is now up to Season 5 (and it's on PC too, not exactly Japans gaming platform of choice), it seems to work rather well.
