This is a 3 part post. Check out part 1 and part 3.Ever since I first saw them years ago I have been intrigued by Dekotora (alternately spelled as "Decotora"). If you've never heard of them before, Dekotora are a very unique kind of trucks (not pickup trucks, the BIG kind). Save for their appearance, they're just normal trucks. But what sets them apart is that they are very, very, very heavily decorated. And I mean literally coated from front to back in some of the loudest, most outrageous, most insane decorations that you've ever seen. Without a doubt, Dekotora are a sight to behold. Something that'll probably surprise you is that the guys who decorate them are mostly professional truck drivers, and the trucks themselves are the very same ones they drive for their jobs. I'm just amazed that these things are actually driven on the road! And they've apparently recieved a decent amount of mainstream exposure in Japan, largely due to the release of a film about them. There are even Dekotora video games for PS, PS2, GBC, WS, DS, and Wii. If you've never seen them before then you're in for a treat. Without a doubt, Dekotora are among the most striking, most vivid, most memorable human creations that you'll ever see. Japanese Dekotora trucks
