www.hardcoregaming101.net/cocoron/cocoron.htmI think when I was polling people for interesting Famicom games, this one came up a few times. It's a Mega Man-style game by the folks who also made Little Samson - another similar title - except you can build your character through a total of twenty four different parts. These affects your mobilty, health, and weaponry. It has a weird, toybox/dream theme going on with it, too. Pretty fun overall!

Sweet, will check it out.
Does this mean my article is going up soon?
edit: sorry, it is just that I'm very excited to be part of the site.
editx2: "underwater level made mostly out of milk and deserts"
I'm sure you mean "desserts" (:

Fuck yes.
This is one of those games that I've wanted to see on HG101 for ages. I even wrote a few paragraphs of an article once way back when, but abandoned it after I couldn't think of anything else to write.

Beat this a good while ago. Surprised the concept of making a playable character in non-wrestling/WRPG games never caught on.

Wow, I was just playing this today. You guys are aware there's an English patch, right?

Yup, I tossed in a link to the patch. I don't care for using patched versions for screens when I can help it, though.

And it's not exactly a game that needs to be played in English anyway.

"As a Mega Man clone, Cocoron certainly more than competent" I think you need "is" there.

Maybe you should've described the level design and bosses a bit? I can't decide from the text if this is worth playing or not, just that it has character generation, is pretty easy, and has a theme similar to Nemo: The Dream Master.

Here are some screenshots of the unreleased PC Cocoron. Apparently the owner of the site has a working prototype of the game but is unwilling to share it

It should be noted that Takeru was started by former Capcom employees including Akira Kitamura, "the actual creator of Mega Man" as per Wikipedia.
