You choose a fundamentalist Republican and I can assure you that the rest of the world loses :-\ Much as I hate to admit it, yes. Although when the Chinese take over and we're too weak to save the collective asses of the world you'll wish we had voted Republican ;p. Also, this is the new Robocop: www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=94813Hey Jason, do you think Bruce Wayne can make his fortune back by suing the shit off them for copyright infringement?

The idea that Iran is as much of a player on the global stage as people make it out to be sometimes strikes me as a laughable claim most of the time. (Sure, Ahmadinejad talks tough, but even he doesn't have much power.)

(Sure, Ahmadinejad talks tough, but even he doesn't have much power.) Ahmadinejad? No. He's a goof and nobody takes him seriously. Even Ali Khamenei (Iran's actual ruler) hates him. But nobody has their eye on Khamenei. While most of the worldwide Jihad is funded by the Saudis, Iran are the ones taking point and making the most noise because if they don't, they'll get rolled by the Sunnis. While they may not be the most powerful, they're pretty much the most likely to do something completely insane (precisely because they're NOT the most powerful, and because Shi'a is still the minority in the middle east compared to Sunni).

I went to a flea market in Texas to buy Castlevania SotN (as explained in antoher thread). The place sucked and was infested with skinheads. They were covered in tattoos, had scary ass chains and stuff. They gave me mean looks and in general it looked like they were about to beat me up. One of them point to me and laughed at his friends "Check out the wetback with the video games!" What a bunch of asses. I'm never going there again.

Gas is over $8/gal. at Lukoil stations in PA and New Jersey. *eyetwitch* And I was getting pissy for $3.80 something, but then again all summer it was like $3.50... Some election season gas price lowering. As someone who depends on government money to go to school, I'm not going to vote for the guy who wants to stop government giving out money completely....

He looks kind of more like Judge Dredd to me than Batman. Nah, Judge Dread either wears what looks like spandex with armored shoulders (the comic and first movie), or really heavy police body armor (the new movie). This really does look more like the Nolan Batsuit. Frankly, it's not a bad design, but it's just not Robocop. The biggest problem, I feel, is that it looks like a suit of armor a dude could wear. The classic one looked more, well, "robotic", with its bulky sections that gave a feeling of weight to the whole thing. I guess to me it just looks "generically cool", if that makes any sense.

Ok you got me there I'll come out and say I'm liberal. Pro-choice. More government control. And having a mother who used welfare to help stay afloat I'm kind of a supporter of that. I understand there are of course arguments, but I actually trust most government programs to work. You know considering I get my paycheck from government programs that expect me to do what they were set up for.

Mostly it bothers me though because of how it's very...expected? That and the one human hand looks like an invitation for trouble (guessing they let him keep it to make his wife happy a la "of mice an men".

He's just one of those characters anyone can identify on sight. Or better yet, why keep remaking these 80's action movies. They didn't really have anything to add to cinema beyond explosions and killing. You remake a movie ideally to give it another chance using new, technology, new staff, something. The only thing you accomplish with remaking Robocop is to piss off fans of the originals.

Because going to back to the same well repeatedly is easier than doing something new and creative.
