And because no actor wants to spend 18 hours per day holed up in that ridiculously heavy get-up from the originals.
Also, my first thought on the new design was less Batman and more Crysis.

Mostly it bothers me though because of how it's very...expected? That and the one human hand looks like an invitation for trouble (guessing they let him keep it to make his wife happy a la "of mice an men". I have to admit that I'm 90% certain the actor's simply not wearing the glove in that photo. |

I wish the movie industry would stop raping all these movies I love, but they seem to do a good job of disappearing deservedly fast and I can do a pretty good job of ignoring their existence.
The funny thing is that even if you look at it on a pure technology level, even that is a downgrade. I mean, what would you rather see, lame, generic CG or REAL effects? Stop-motion, animatronics, claymation, real explosions, real flame guns, etc. etc. That's where it's at. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky that this new Robocop is a real guy in a real suit as opposed to CG. Even if it does look like total crap.

I'm honestly wondering if the suit we're seeing now is actually some sort of "stunt" suit that will have CGI applied on top of it during post. My biggest problem with the new design is that it just isn't bulky enough. In the original movie, when Robocop shrugged off small arms fire, it was believable because he was covered in inch thick titanium armor, where as the redesigned armor looks about as thin as tissue paper. Unless he has some sort of energy shield, I don't see how this Robocop can stand up to more than a BB gun. Otherwise I don't mind the redesign much. ED-209, on the other hand... |

I can't even tell what the fuck is going on with ED-209's redesign. The silhouette is incredibly vague and sloppy looking.

This would have been a better ED209 design:  That was the best part of Riki-Oh, IMO. Not the parts that became the movie, or the fact that his dad may or may not have been a time travelling Abraham. It was the knights in antarctica that rode around on double-ED209s and shot you to death with rocket launcher lances. |

Not only the movie industry should stop remaking movies that are less than one or two decade old. They stop remaking foreign movies where the one part changed is having English and the plot got left intact. You can read America, like every other country.

I bought some nice ass speakers off of cl and I didn't have a lot of time to test them with MY music so I just tested them with the guys setup and his music. Turns out the woofers are totally blown; I got screwed.
