Well, that's a pretty offensive statement.
When people say you're going to Hell and you did something bad then it really isn't nearly as offensive imo. But when they say you're going to Hell for not believing something? Then they're getting me angry!

I get kind of irked when people try to force their religious beliefs on you even though you've politely stated that it's just not what you believe in. I don't even mind hearing about other peoples religions, I find them interesting. I just can't stand it when someone tells me I'm going to hell. Same here, which is half of the reason why I have such an interest in studying religion. Generally it's only those who are ignorant in their own religions that are so judgmental, and I find immense amounts of joy in telling them why they are stupid.

I just hate the assumptions certain religious types make about you when they find out you don't share their beliefs. To be fair, I used to do the same thing from the other side of the fence, but I freely acknowledge my judgmental stereotyping of the faithful, and it's something I'm dealing with. But those same people Camanchi mentioned, the ones who won't leave you alone, first they just flat out assume you're not on their side because you don't know any better, you point out that, no, actually, you've done your own research and have come to your own decision, then they insist that if you read this text or that again, but with an open mind... yeah, obviously you didn't truly read it with an open mind, because if you did, you wouldn't have rejected it. Can you say "No true Scotsman?"It's at this point that the subject of the "youth group" for which they volunteer somehow enters the conversation, despite seemingly being entirely irrelevant to the conversation, which seems like a random example, but in my own experience, it comes up every time. Other assumptions certain Christians have made about me: - That I don't know the difference between metaphor and literal text. (apparently, eastern proverbs are metaphors, Christian proverbs are literal, thanks for clearing that up) - That I'm a Muslim (he used the old "what if you're wrong" chestnut, to which I asked "well, what if we're both wrong and the Koran is right" which I said purely to make a point, and that was apparently enough to make me Muslim) - That I clearly don't understand the theory of evolution. (apparently, the fact that dogs can't fly is sufficient counter evidence needed to put this whole evolution thing to rest... I'm not making up that example.) - Subsequently, that I don't understand scientific language. (apparently, the fact that it's the "theory" of evolution and not the "scientific fact" of evolution, clearly shows that it's all hogwash... not making this up either) - That I've never contributed to society in any meaningful way. (you could maybe argue that this is true, but they have no way of actually knowing this... this is where the "youth group" they felt compelled to mention comes in) - That I must have been abused or mistreated as a child (mind your own fucking business) - That I'm "confused" (not really) or that I haven't found the "answers" I'm "looking for." (I'm not actually looking for answers, I've emptied my cup.) But my favourite has to go to my friend Gab, who argued with a couple of "youth group volunteers" in a bookstore for a good 15 minutes, and at one point one of them just came right out and said. "I think you're just too smart for your own good." Sums it up right there. We just aren't ignorant enough.

Yet again, it feels like this place should have a "thanks" system. Great post, Jave.

Oh it sounded like I was saying "Oh, what you're saying is offensive Camanchi" but I meant it as the things those guys say is offensive.

Yeah, Kurt's said before that it really didn't work out in practice. It's just sad, cause I've been to places where people were able to handle it without acting like children.

I guess you could pester him to bring it back but yeah it's pretty pointless.
Also what pisses me off - game related.
When people insist on finding the single most overpowered combination of anything and then exclusively using that. I know all that playing to win bullcrap but we all know if it's bad it's going to get nerfed so maybe you should do your fellow players a favour and not spam the cheapest abilities. (This is in direct mention of Bad Company 2).

On that note, TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER
Not on that note, I hate that I can't smoke after getting a tooth out. I understand why and all, but it still sucks that I can't get high for the next couple days, especially since a bowl or two would help with this soreness.

Darn it, I know it's like the most nerfed out gun in the game, I don't care. Give me a Needler any day.

Well, felt I should toss around some things that piss me off. And please forgive me if I ramble some. I don't always get my thoughts across properly. Tall People Who Cut/Treat You Like You Aren't ThereI'm a very small person, only 4'8", and I've noticed this obnoxious trend for people who are taller to just cut in front of me, or cut me off, when it's apparent I'm trying to stay up with a group of people. And I know they see me, because they always look at me before they do it! It's not cool to cut, even if I am short. Also I had one time some guy at a convention decided to lean right into me over a table in the dealer's room. I guess he thought since I was short, it was fine to press me into the table like he did. I finally turned around and told him I was being crushed and to quit leaning into me like that, I did not appreciate it. You Don't Like ____ What's Wrong With You?!!!Classic examples for this one: Final Fantasy 7 and Neon Genesis Evangelion. I didn't really like either. I never even finished Evangelion because I was bored out of my mind, but there is absolutely nothing at all wrong with me. I have good, logical reasons for disliking the things I like. I will tell you them if you ask. They may not be reasons you agree with, but they aren't wrong, and I get so tired of hearing that I am weird, wrong, or otherwise am "hatin'" on something because it's "popular/I'm stupid" or whatever. I'm NOT. You're Only Complaining Because You're A GirlThe recent breast discussion in the KoF XIII article reminded me I've had this happen. The people here have been really great and mature, and realize I'm coming from the point of view of reality, but I've actually been told the only reason I'm complaining about things like breast physics, clothing (or lack thereof) and other such things on women is because I'm a girl. That's not the reason. I actually like a large variety of shows, TV, movie, anime, and so on, that feature fan-service. I even like some of the scantily clad women, and some of the bouncing ones. What I have problems with is, I draw, and I get scolded often by my Brother (who also draws) for things that don't make logical sense. Due to this, I started watching things, and have even sat down and figured out how movements affect things, so I just can't help but notice inaccuracies, especially if they exist in abundance. After all, I draw too long of legs (And apparently my eyes are too far apart in my art too), so I can overlook some, but face it, those girls in that one game which later had Masami Obari's character designs (Gowkaizer?) should have popped RIGHT out of their clothing... Or in some cases, the clothes should have fell off. And yes, I'll scold men's designs too if I find it, but the one I could most guys don't want to see anyway WeabooI know it gets used here, too. And I know it generally applies to those who are really, really, REALLY into the Japanese culture, but I've seen it used to imply anyone who likes Japanese culture, animation, etc. I've also seen it implied that if you so much as read manga, or watch anime, or whatever, you automatically have no clue about American stuff. THAT is where I get annoyed. I read a lot of manga, I watch a lot of anime, but I have a background of comic knowledge. I read things like the New Universe as a girl, G.I. Joe, and pretty much anything my brothers snagged up (including Batman and some X-men stuff). It's alright, and I'll still pick up books made in the U.S. sometimes, but I just don't often prefer the stories. As for anime, I also watch a lot of American movies and shows: Bones, Fringe, House, Leverage, and more. I read a lot of books (Agatha Christie is one of my favorite authors), and so on and so forth. Please, quit lumping everyone into one group! Aaand, I think that's more than enough for now. It's a pretty big list/ramble. Sorry 'bout that.

I definitely agree with this. All too often I've seen people's opinions discredited because they like anime or manga, mostly because it's assumed most anime/manga is of inferior quality or the person in question hates quirks unique to that medium. Yeah, there's a lot of bad stuff out there, but it's like anything else. You can't discredit someone's opinion because of their tastes. Sturgeon's law and all that.

My snide remark was made purely in the viewpoint of gameplay, not graphics. However, do not feel reluctant to tel me how I am wrong, for I can accept that I am imperfect.
