You know, the rich soccer mom who has to protect her precious children from anything different, or the older generation who thinks the moral fabric of society is falling apart. It's hard to hear the outcry of someone who might not even be able to write a letter in English to the government.

Uh, sexists pigs online. Seriously, I end a discussion because the guys beyond reason when it comes to women, and I'm the coward for running away. Frick that. Wish some of the people on that board had a spine, so I wasn't the only one defending her. Pity, too the board centers around a honorable, justice-loving vigilante.

^I've left a forum that I was a part of for a loonnnggg time (I was a mod even) due to the administrator being pretty darn sexist/misogynistic, at least with me. I got so sick of being picked on/harassed/treated like shit by the admin that I tried to talk to him about it calmly on AIM. He basically told me to fuck off and that he'll talk to me however he feels like and will never apologize. And then proceeded to say I'd do a bunch of terrible and morally reprehensible things just because I'm a woman. Cut and print.

What is this forum that you speak of? Now that I actually have the kahonas to stand up to people being dicks to girls on forums and not respecting them, I'm not afraid to step in and ask a few questions. Not saying it'll do any real good, but it might mean more coming from another girl.

The word you're looking for is cajones.

It won't. Sites/forums that aren't sexist are extremely few and far between since misogyny is very much accepted online as a form of discrimination anyone can agree on, since the internet is still largely male oriented. Being a gay gal like me online is even worse; I really don't want to repeat some of the stuff I've been told daily on other sites (which I have left) because of it. Misogyny combined with homophobia is one of the most disgusting forces out there, and it works equally evil against both genders.

They're ignorant and pigheaded and nothing is going to change it. As stubborn and hot blooded as I am, I fall for the trap every time and try to defend the gender, but it just doesn't work in the end and I have to make a tactical, quiet retreat when nobody's around. As much as I love being a bastion of chivalry (and just believing in it in general) in a world that generally mocks it now, I know when I've had enough. My only advice is to stay to places like here/our IRC where people aren't so damn stupid about it. And if someone does try it, let it be known that the rest of the mods here and I will not stand up for that bullshit for even half a second; it'll be snapped like a twig.

I fully believe in karma, so they'll get theirs in the end eventually.

There's something I've been ranting about a lot in the IRC chat, and it's Steampunk. Namely how impractical the designs are. I get the romanticizing of the Age of Steam, because it corresponded with a lot of other romantic elements, such as the Wild West and the growth of science. But when you put copper pipes and steam engines on just about anything, even shotguns, it starts to become really stupid.

As an example, I present an upcoming indie game in development called Trudy's Mechanicals. You can read any news update and see what I mean in regards to how impractical the designs are, but I'm focusing on one specifically: Trudy Concept Dump #2.

For the lazy I'll just link to the Bruiser design directly. This is the first design draft for the Bruiser. Looks pretty practical doesn't it? Like a knight in an early diving suit. It looks meaty, clunky, but sturdy and resistant to attack. Now compare with the finalized Bruiser design. What the fuck happened? Why does he have shin guards larger than he is?

The other designs suffer from this sort of impracticality too, and it's just awful looking. Steampunk has the potential to be really cool but is always ruined by people who get off on bolting a steam engine on a clock. CLOCKS FUNCTIONED PERFECTLY WELL WITHOUT NEEDING AN ENTIRE FUCKING STEAM ENGINE ARGH.

lol I`ve been reading your posts ppl,.. and i must confess i ran to the kitchen and got a sandwich and a big cup of coffee to read them all ( last page), I laugh cose in some cases i identify myself with the situation, (Lazy/reckless co-worker, color people situation, the person that just got a promotion ( manager or boss) and cose of that he thinks he is god and start treating you like shit cose is his/her first time with an "important" job).. my random /rant about the things that i really hate:

1._ The way of think of my fucking neighbors, they think they lives in a low life neighborhood ( parties from 6pm friday until 7+ am with scandals and super high volume music included)
2._ My country`s nazi control on Credit cards about when you are buying w/e thing on the internet. ( only let you spend 400$ in one year no matter your credit card limit)

3._ Literally you can`t! buy an original game here, 90% of software here is bootleg.

4._ Hate with passion my isp but is the only one giving service over my zone =/

5._ When you trying to get a new job and the company ask you about doing all the exams, blood,psyco, interview here there , questions here and there,.. and .. at the end,.. they use a nice and pretty girl face just to tell you " we will call you if we need someone,ok?"

6._ Hate the sentinel glitch in dragon age awakening,i fuq@ing lost it
