Im slightly pissed off on why its so hard to get a decent job. I've got education on computers and business, and Im a B-grade actor, yet all the possible business related jobs I look at online either
A. Require knowledge about the job (Like this Funeral Parlor/Flower shop) B. Require experience (Mattress salesman. Selling frigging matressess require experience) C. Are telemarketing jobs
This made this summer boring. No job = Repetive days at home + No money. No money = no vidja gamez.

Ok Linkin Park just jumped 30 cool points in my book. I had no idea there were random Gundam models in that video. Smithee, have you gotten weird looks from people while driving yet? I get funny looks when people pull up and all's they can hear is random Gundam theme songs, or Persona game tunes. The asian guy (at least, I believe he's asian) who does a lot of the electronic music for Linkin Park (which is actually a considerable portion of the band's talent) is a huge Gundam fanatic, if I remember correctly. Several of their music videos have Gundams in them, and the cover to their "reanimated" CD actually has a Gundam on it. While their lyrics are often garbage, their music really isn't that bad. They get a pretty bad rep, but are a decent band.

My problem with Linkin Park isn't their music, per se. I mean, Crawling in my skiiiin, these wounds they will not heaaaal....is such an emo cutter anthem, it's pathetic. But overall, they aren't so bad. I'm actually kind of fond of their collaboration with Jay-Z. My real complaint is that they get labeled as "rock" or "modern rock" or "hard rock". WTF?
There's a discrete difference between something like Zeppelin's "Whole Lot of Love" and Linkin Park's "In the End". If people would stop promoting them as legitimate rock, I wouldn't feel so bad about their stuff.

They are the culmination of like 4 different musical backgrounds, and some go as far to say its the concrete sound of the 2000's. I'm not a fan of them, but my fiancee is big time.

I want to post in this thread but nearly every complaint I have is my own fault.
I will say that some of the far right-wing rhetoric raised in the past few months (especially birther/obama wants to kill your family stuff) has been irritating me, but that's mainly because I'm addicted to the pain that reading Conservapedia inflicts on my soul.

I'm gonna go into a bit of a rant.
Yesterday I went to town with some friends, someone was there who I didn't expect - he basically looks a lot like me, long hair, goatee, it can be a bit annoying being around people you look very similar too.
He's also a bit of an anime geek, much like me, only with different tastes. He inevitably took us to our local nerd emporium, of course as there was a non-geek friend with us, I was going to spare him from this shop, but we all went in anyway because of my slight-lookalike (who shall be called Ste, as that's him name).
Everything would have been fine until Ste, in his obnoxiously loud voice, said "DON'T WATCH BRUNO, IT'S GAY", other than the radio, there was literally a silence that I had to break with "that does sound a bit homophobic". Even though he kept going on about how he liked Scha Boran Cohen (and hated the Borat movie), he was not letting up on how Bruno disgusted him so much, the only thing is he made it sound like he was offended because he got to see gay sex on film.
Later, while the others were in McDonalds and I was on my own in some chicken place, he comes in, breaks the silence with "JIMMY" and then argues with our politics-savvy friend about foreigners and immigration while the place is filled with people who have moved over here to find work. Immigration and all topics similar, not implying the Pakistanis in the place were immigrants, but I really wanted to just finish my food and get the hell out when he's shouting about foreigners and making it sound offensive even though he's not a xenophobe or anything (at least I believe).
That's another thing too, he LOVES to fucking argue with my friend who has studied politics for two years, so we've got a kid who is knowledgeable in the subject and someone who became a plumber right after secondary school. What's worse, is that he sounds like the most stereotypical student ever (even when he's not a student!) because he constantly makes "the government" out to be this evil force that is going to put you down. He even argued that the Royal Family shouldn't be ruling because they're of Germanic descent. Somehow, he was arguing about how Americans are going to get rid of the letter K (I don't know where the fuck this came from), I asked him for his sources on this, he gave a vague answer that pretty much amounted to seeing something on TV about the American government.
"Who is this anonymous parliamentary force you keep talking about and why the fuck do they want to mess around with grammar?" is what I asked, and not much came of it.
Goddamn I can't believe some retards.

Some of the people on Battlefield 1943 drive me up the wall. According to my stats, I've played the game over 40 hours. Pretty good amount of time for a multiplayer-only game, I think. Now, there is a class that roughly 30% of the people who play the game choose to play as that has an ability that allows them to quickly repair vehicles (this is the only way to repair vehicles, mind you).
Tanks are a pretty big part of this game, as they're capable of a lot of kills, really quickly, so people usually grab them as quickly as possible and they get damaged rather quickly (they are, after all, an enormous target). I've been in a lot of tanks. I've gotten kills in a lot of tanks. The class I play as though, does not have the ability to repair.
There have been a number of games I've gone into with some friends of mine who will play that particular class that is capable of repair, and they'll always help me - or anyone else in a tank - out. There is, after all, an incentive to repair other than greatly assisting your team, which is a free 15 points for repairing a friendly vehicle with more than 50% damage (a kill is only 10 points without certain modifiers, so this is a reasonably large amount of points for doing such a simple activity).
Now, given that there's incentive to repair, many opportunities to repair and about 30% of people play that class, how many times do you think I've had someone repair my tank, who is not a personal friend of mine? I'll give you a second to think... Okay, here is the answer. Two. Two times in my entire history of playing the game, I have had my tank repaired by a teammate that is not a personal friend.
You might be thinking, right now, that maybe I've just had bad luck in running into those capable of repair. Wrong. The tank also has a seat on top of it for someone to pilot a mounted machine gun. While my tank is in BLINKING RED HEALTH (visible to them while in the seat) and SMOKING (visible to them from a good distance away from the tank), they will jump into the mounted machine gun rather than repair (the mounted machine gun rarely ever gets kills and is a huge target [i.e. a free kill] for the most popularly played class) and then just proceed to stay in there.
This drives me fucking nuts. This is just one example of how profoundly stupid some of the people that play this game are, there are countless. While the game is a lot of fun, I genuinely don't believe I've ever played an FPS with a community as stupid as this one, before.

I find blatant intellectual dishonesty and repression/censorship of opposing viewpoints somewhat fascinating, if constantly infuriating and bad for my mental health. I read it as a pair with Rationalwiki (the site set up initially to rebut CP's claims which has since outgrown it in terms of useful/interesting content). Conservapedia is especially interesting because it has the minor war going on with a number of people: people who post parody on the site (and often get away with it), people who are there just to vandalize with vulgarities, people who try to insert actual facts/sense into articles and people who may or may not be "true believers" but act in such a dysfunctional manner that they only harm the project overall.
It's certainly a lot easier and quicker than trying to keep up with the actual legitimate political debates going on, too.

I like Linkin Park too, though I was a bigger fan of them when I was around 14 or 15. I do often compare the mash-up with Jay-Z to a modern Run DMC and Aerosmith's "Walk This Way", something that broke down the barriers between two genres of music, except an entire album and not just one song.
Something else: Waiting for a cool package to come, and having to order said package on UPS Ground because I'm short on the money front. 5 days is gonna seem like a year now. =\

Just had a nice discussion with fellow Abandonia members, where others practically said "Consoles suxx", because "they make PC games simpler", "They kill PC games/Sales", "They have JRPG and are flooded with bad games", "Only stupid Americans play consoles" and the natural "You can do so lot more with PC"...etc. I had trouble resisting urge to throw tantrum or ban someone from the chatbox.
EDIT: Then there's one admin who's running the sites ezine project. He's writing "Sins of Gaming" article, where he claims that consoles are reason why there are no longer thick PC manuals. Not to mention I had hard time to convince him to not restrict possible console related content on the magazine.
I admit, its abandonware community, but does it really have to be that biased?

Welcome to the majority of humanity. Reason and common sense is in short supply, evidently.
And at that note, the majority of humanity pisses me off.

Just faithfully remind them that the "Stupid Americans" don't have the money to keep upgrading their PC's every 2 years. Also, Id rather pay $500 for a PS3 that runs faster, more stable, and is easier to use, than a shitty Windows PC that crashes, lags, needs constant updating/upgrading, and will eventually become totally obsolete. Lets do a comparison! Can I play current technology games on my PS3 out of the box? YES Can I play current technology games on my PC out of the box? NO Point one for consoles Can I play an old game from the 90's on my Super Nintendo? YES Can I play an old game from the 90's on my old PC? NO, but there is dosbox..... oh wait that particular game isn't stable. I guess I'm screwed Point 2 for consoles. Can I use the internet on my PS3 out of the box? YES Can I use the internet on my PC out of the box? YES TIE Can I play online with my friends on PS3? YES Can I play online with my friends on PC? Well, yes.... depending on how good your comp is. TIE Can I watch a BluRay on my PS3? YES Can I watch a BluRay on my PC? Sure, if your rich. Most people aren't though so NO Consoles 3/ PC 0 Can I listen to MP3's, watch video files, and view pictures on my PS3? YES Same question PC? YEs Tie But Justin, aren't you being a little biased? Yes I guess I am, but I'm not ignorant to what PC's can do. Homebrew is awesome, plus there is a good chunk of video games that are PC exclusive that are great to play. The RTS genre has never really been pulled off well on a console, and a PC is really the best way to play it. Still, how the hell can you think that console gaming is the fucking bane of the video game world. PC's aren't widely used because they are obviously not the best platform to game on. I'll admit, its a good platform, but its no better than 90% of whats out there. I fail to see how plugging a controller into a PC is better than doing the same thing with a console. Fanboys man, they are all fanboys!
