I've got tons of bites on my arms and legs thanks to working outside near wooded areas this week, so I know your pain...
This is petty and minor, but my account was locked on pixiv and I have no fucking clue why. I'd put up a picture of Yukio Mishima headbanging to an Andrew W.K. song, then suddenly I'm locked out. It's maddening...

That is, unless you're counting his album of covers for Gundam theme songs (in English). Then they sound like those  . |

The indie scene. Just because Napoleon Dynamite pulled it off successfully doesn't mean any jaded, pretentious movie like Juno or Nick & Nora can do it. It just pisses me off because the art and attitude behind it are so lazy and the music associated with it is even worse. It has forever tarnished the real definition of "indie".

Sure did. What, got a problem with that? If so, I kinda got a problem with you, Jason, so I guess we're even.
But yeah, Snarboo, it's difficult to accurate classify hipsters, scenesters, and all that crap. The indie scene may very well count as "mainstream" now, making it even more difficult. In all, that kind of Judd Apatow movie feel, with Michael Cera and that guy who played Mark Zuckerberg, with pretentiously dull art and bad music, Cartoon Network shows, and Hot Topic crap really pisses me off. Is it Facebook's fault or Apple's? I'd really like to know how it originated.

Sounds like you like to collect problems! I don't have a problem with you, though. It just seemed odd to mention the same exact thing in two separate threads. Like, I wouldn't come to the "stuff that makes your day" thread, or whatever it's called, and say that I just got 100% on a game after saying the exact same thing in the "games you just completed" thread.

The fact Supernatural now has an anime adaption. I hate the shit out of that show. I don't know where they got the impression that trying to Japan-ify something is going to make it better. Witchblade, maybe?
P.S. No offense to REAL anime fans out there

The fact Supernatural now has an anime adaption. I hate the shit out of that show. I don't know where they got the impression that trying to Japan-ify something is going to make it better. Witchblade, maybe? P.S. No offense to REAL anime fans out there I thought it was funny that they decided to just retell the first two seasons with an animu. I won't post it but I drew a "house: the animated series" sketch for that reason a while back. Also, I was apparently banned from Pixiv for posting that Megaman Legends RIP drawing, because it received too many complaints from people for being "offensive." WTF. Anyway it's deleted now and they're supposed to let me back on. |

Then the people on Pixiv are morons. That's another thing that pisses me off--people who are offended by anything. That includes the ultra-convservative people at Standards and Practices who won't let us have GOOD kids shows and cultures throughout the world who start riots over seeing a couple kiss or a woman with exposed hair.
Well, my gripe with Supernatural is as follows:
Dialogue- Okay, I know you can't curse too much, but when it gets to "I'll fudging kill you!", something's wrong.
Protagonists- Hot-headed, anti-social, hair-trigger violent, and borderline psychotic with few redeeming features. Anti-heroes are okay, just not 100% American Produce meathead types.
Bad Guys- Demons, and the kind out of Occultism! Oh, how creative! How do you defeat them? Holy water? That's so original! Just take traditional beliefs and make them into reality! Don't even try what Inuyasha or SMT did. Just use a magic object, and BAM! You're done.
Originality- Well, there's nothing wrong with trying to pull off what Buffy the Vampire Slayer did, but if you're going to make it as melodramatically serious as Smallville or Angel, you've already taken away what made it cool to begin with.
