...and it's gonna go on until Monday. DX
Reason being the retard union leader Mike O'Neill, who's the son of the mayor in my county, promised them a raise in salary and never had the money for it.

What was the article about? I used to read his articles in GamesTM and there was nothing braggery or unusual about them, maybe the magazine reigned him in and maybe there is a reason he was replaced. From those articles he seemed quite normal. He might have been reigned in like you said. Unfortunately, most of the stuff he writes is A) overblown to comic proportions (100k words on an article about Kingdom Hearts, about 1000 of those dedicated to the game), B) narcissistic, C) pretentious hipster bullshit, and D) some sort of archetype for why we need to hold lynching parties for video game journalists. To his credit he is knowledgeable about games and seems to have at least at one time had a genuine passion for games. But the problem is that by getting published he's helped enable every douchebag blogger or whatever to write a fucking novella about the bolus of feces they left behind that morning instead of actually talking about the games they're supposedly reviewing. So was this recent infuriating article about Kingdom Hearts? I think a lot of this follows on from the rock journalists that started appearing at the end of the 70s who wanted to appear like rock stars themselves and gleefully wrote bad reviews while ignoring their real duties. You got a lot of this in early 80s NME. I've always hated that stuff but some of them had their worthwhile moments or eventually matured, some of them are still wasting column space.

So hey, there's no public bus service but there's still the short buses run by the locals and that's how people have been managing on places like the streets I work at. But apparently today the drivers on strike have been throwing rocks at them and they weren't allowed to go near the train station. I though that shit was dirty but I came to know about it only from word of mouth and didn't see any of it. If not, I think I would've done something stupid like call the cops.

Speaking of bus systems, the new public transportation system in my town really sucks. In the past, in order to get anywhere, you'd have to get on one bus, ride all the way to the bus terminal in the center of town, and get on another bus to get to where you needed to go. While this was good for getting across town fast, but for most people, who only want to go down the road (or in my case, the five miles to my work that I couldn't walk without tiring myself), it'd be quite an excursion. In addition, the vast majority of the buses ran only once an hour, and if your bus was 10+ minutes late, you'd pretty much be stuck in the terminal for an hour. Sounds pretty bad, right?
Well, they revamped the system over the summer, and they somehow made it WORSE.
I actually got out lucky: I only have to take one bus to work, and I get to my job early now. However, when I had to go to a different location to help out for a few weeks, I saw how horrible the system really was. It's decentralized now, meaning only a few buses go to the bus terminal, and most run select routs around town. Of course, the way these routes got set up, most people have to transfer two, even three times to get to where they're going. In addition, the transfer times run REALLY close to each other, meaning if Bus A is three minutes late getting to the transfer stop, unless bus B is also running late, you'll be missing your bus. Of the two weeks I worked at the another location, I was late to work three days... in a row. That's complete BS. Whoever designed the damn thing should have taken into effect that as a college town, traffic is really bad at certain times of hte day, and not just during rush hour, either.
Not nearly as bad as the drivers going on strike, but it's still irksome.

So last night, we eat at Hardee's and not only did the service suck ass, but I asked for a low-carb chicken sandwich and ten minutes later, the waiter/cashier came to our table with a pile of lettuce, chicken, bacon, cheese, and mayo and I'm thinking "What the fuck is this?!" My mom and sister, completely unphased and talking to me like I was an idiot, told me that "low-carb" means no bun. I can't believe how stupid that is. A sandwich has BREAD! If spaghetti doesn't have noodles, it's no longer spaghetti, it's just a pile of sauce and meat--"low-carb" is NOT an excuse!! But the bun is where most of the carbs are. And don't they have pictures of the sandwiches on the menu?

All of the carbs are in the bread. Why the hell did you ask for a low-carb sandwich if you didn't know what it meant? They can't magic the carbs out of the bread.

There was a time (During the Atkins craze) when they had lo-carb bread at some of the restaurants. Now, the "Low Carb Option" P Much means "meat".
I used to just order hamburger patties and cheese at Jack In The Box and cut them up like hotcakes. Man, if you ever wanted to loathe eating meat, the Atkins Diet was it.

Sorry dude it's just that when you complain about getting exactly what you asked for it kind of puts you across as being a big petulant baby.
I mean seriously what did you think "low-carb" meant?
Also mods: Requesting my title be changed to "Asshole."

Hardee's and Carl's Jr. have been doing this for years and they've always advertised their low-carb burgers as having no bread, so you only have yourself to blame for ordering something without asking what it is or what's on it.

ldorado: Bottom line is, if they give you bad service you don't have to take it; just tell them that you asked for no mayo. If you're worried about them spitting on it...well, are you white? They probably spit on it anyway. It builds character.
And not trying to be snarky, but Hardee's and Carl's Jr. are like one of the last places to try being carb and/or calorie conscious. And that's why they're delicious. I could murder a half dozen of the cinnamon raisin breakfast biscuits right now.

Kinda off topic of the argument but... Hardee's puts mayo on their bread-less... er... sandwiches? That sounds very unappetizing.

If you want a sandwich with less carbs then the last thing you should do is go out to eat anyway. Especially not at a fast food joint.
