Yeah, I replied on that topic how to get it working I believe.
You have to press F2 to enter the test screen and then reset or something like that.
I haven't tried it, but the game should work because the last update for it was a fix for the controls.
*edit*
Here it is:
-Delete the slrasslt.nv in the nvram directory (if exists) -Boot the game as normal -When the game come up the 24G BAD EEPROM: parameter is illegal hold down F2 and press F3 (reset game), the game will reset and load fine the second time.

Eh, whaddya know! It runs at half speed on my computer (probably would've gone at like 5% on my old one) and there's still a bunch of graphic glitches, but at least it's playable!

Hyper walrus piss. Guess it seems like I'll never play Buriki One ever. You can still get the original Hyper board and build/buy a MAK... sometimes they can be snatched cheaply on ebay (For my Hyper Rev2 + Garou, I payed more on shipping than for the system itself).

Yeah, there's a guy who often sells on eBay a Hyper Neo Geo 64 rev 2 plus Asra Zanmaden, Buriki-One, and Garou Densetsu Wild Ambition for $60+$60 shipping to the US. That nets you pretty much all of the games worth getting on the system for the cost of about 2 current-gen games. Add a supergun and you're set. Why not buy it if you're really interested?

hng64: Improved the Samurai Shodown 64 2 i/o simulation comms, now inputs works and enters into proper gameplay. [Angelo Salese]
hng64: improved MCU simulation and added inputs in Beast Busters 2nd Nightmare, it can now reach gameplay mode too [Angelo Salese]

Fuck Hyper Neo Geo 64. I've been waiting for Raiden II/DX to become playable in MAME since 1999.
At least there's the PSX ports to keep me sedated in the meantime.

I think that's why everyone is so eager for the HNG64 emulation...there's no other way to play stuff like Buriki One or Samurai Shodown 64 2. The PS1 port of Raiden DX was freakin' awesome and the Raiden Project port of Raiden II was mostly solid as well (though didn't it have a broken tate mode? You could easily fix that via controller remapping in an emulator).

Anyone tried HN64 with the latest MAME? All the MAME updates have had some sort of improvement in HN64 emulation but I haven't tried it.

It runs Samurai Showdown: Warrior's Rage with some graphical glitches and slowdown. It's still playable if you don't mind playing at half of the normal speed.

I was looking for info about HNG64 emulation past 2013 or so but didn't found anything of note... Have any progresses been made at all? Guess even if there were only 7 games for the system we'll never play them.

Guess even if there were only 7 games for the system we'll never play them. I wouldn't count it out just yet; while I'm not immediately aware of any WIPs by the MAME team specifically on the HNG64, remember it was only about 4-ish years ago that we got CPS3 emulation playable, and that only had 6 games on it.

4-ish? I think you are getting old Weasel. CPS3 was cracked TEN years ago I wouldn't compare CPS3 with HNG64 purely because a lot of people wanted CPS3 to be emulated, but no one really care/cares about HNG64. Also, back then the Arcade emu scene was really active, so if it wasn't fully worked on back then, it won't be fully worked on now considering the extreme lack of programmers that scene has. Now, if someone manages to get over whatever hurdle holding back proper emulation of that board, then yeah, you'll probably see more updates in that front.
