(I expect he used it because he started 6 years ago and the newer fight engine designers weren't around) What newer fight engine?

Indeed, I at least consider it largely better then Mugen. Or at least was I don't know about all this new Mugen carp.

Ooh, Zalgo fighter! I highly approve of this dark and twisted concept. I agree, it reminds me somewhat of Timekiller by Bloodlust, but with a decidedly Lovecraftian flavor.

That Animus fellow/lady has one hell of a wicked laugh.

Wow, this is actually pretty awesome. I had some pretty low expectations, partly through some previous bad experiences with MUGEN, but I have to admit this is good.
Are there any good full MUGEN games? They don't have to be completely original like this is, but I'd prefer they were well-balanced and consistent, and unless it was REALLY good, not just a random mash-up.

"Animus", I am amused to death by that name, thanks 4chan.

Hence the word "animosity." I'm also reminded of Anima from Final Fantasy X.

I often wondered how the Mugen scene couldn't produce some completely original work like the Japanese Fighter Maker community is more used to do (see Vanguard Princess or SCWU), and finally my wish came true? The only shame is that there are only 6 playable characters, but the rest is really well done, from graphics and sound, to gameplay and balance. Great style and atmosphere too, and some detals like the custom animations for mirror matches (my, isn't Animus creepy?) are top-notch. I'm tempted to check the productions of this author in other media, although it's highly likely they aren't good for getting an easy sleep...
