www.hardcoregaming101.net/machinarium/machinarium.htmI'd intended to take a small break from all of the adventure game stuff to deal with some arcade games (I'll get to you one day, Kid Niki and Joe & Mac!) but I got this during one of the many holidays sales, and just beat it earlier this week. It's already the critical darling amongst most every place that reviewed it, so I guess I can't really add much other than echoing their praise, and say that it is definitely worth the price. I got it bundled with their previous game, Samorost 2, which I haven't played yet unfortunately.

I've played an extremely similar game called Little Wheel at Kongregate, but this one sounds a bit more in depth. Too bad I'm not at the point I want to start up Adventure Games again.

Haven't played Machinarium yet, but Samorost 2 was awesome.

Little Wheel is surprisingly similar to Machinarium. It's one of those surprising things like that happen in Hollywood all the time where two highly similar products hit the market within the same year or quarter. Machnarium, of course, is much longer though.

I love how the Samorost series and Machinarium seem to have started a trend within the indie community. More high quality 2D goodness is always appreciated. I'm also surprised by how good they look since Flash, while easy to use, used to be pretty limiting visually.

I like the visuals, which is odd since usually I prefer bright colors as compared to a lot of darker ones.
