Several things:
Been playing a lot of Dragon's Crown with my brother and also last weekend with some coworkers. Lots of fun. My dwarf Thuggalo is spec'd pretty much entirely on throwing dudes because I like Wario.
Also been playing the Mega Man Zero Collection, and off that springboarded onto ZX. Hoo boy...
I really, really want to enjoy ZX, and haven't really played it since I got it, oh, maybe eight years ago? And now I remember why. The game loves to troll. Not even through being difficult, but the way missions and warp points work is festering, rotten garbage. And this is why:
1. Accept a mission from some warp point. 2. Save your game at said warp point. 3. Head towards a warp point near a new area, hoping its designated area happens to correspond with your mission. 4. Walk into the warp point bordering this area. Subsequently discover that this is area I and not area G which your mission calls for. 5. Say fuck it, save your game and abort the mission. 6. Get kicked back to the first warp point you accepted the mission from. 7. Scramble desperately to find the new warp you just saved at, only to discover you can no longer warp to it because you accepted the mission before finding it.
WHY??? Why does it need to be one at a time? Here's a concept - walk into a level, and be able to beat it like any sane game. If I have a mission in a goddamn list, I shouldn't need to authorize it, and I sure as fuck shouldn't be booted back a jillion screens ago because the vague ass map system didn't give me a fart of a clue where the mission is located.
And then there's the boss-weapon trolling. So I beat a boss, and because I hit the wrong part of it, the weapon fucking BREAKS??? And now I have to spend money repairing it? And I can't even use money on something cool like new techniques, just boosting it back to the level it should have been, but wasn't, because I didn't fight the boss right. Not to mention all of these weapons are pretty mundane shit we've all seen before, and the other four bosses just add more meter to them. Lame. Ass.

A Megaman Metroidvania would've been so cool, but they really screwed up with the unusable map.

Chrono Trigger DS. Just had to sit through an extremely long plane flight, and this kept me going. Haven't played through it in years, and it still holds my attention better than 90% of modern jrpgs.

FFXII trying the job challenge. Vaan is a monk, Fran is White Mage, Balthier is a gunner, Ashe/Basch is paladin/black mage. Haven't decided which one I want yet. And Penelo is my Chemist. And it's pretty fun so far, once you have a party that is. Makes you have really think each battle out, and having been playing a bunch of MMOs it's going to be cathartic controlling everyone.

Dark Souls II - on my NG+ run and it seems to be going okay so far. I solo'd most bosses bar the Ruin Sentinels and a couple of others the first time around- so now I am summoning for the bosses I previously didn't and solo'ing the bosses I previously summoned for. Yeah :\ Also I re-spec'd myself into a Faith Build - man, that is something I am liking about this one- the fact I can jiggle my stats for the NG+ runs to keep things interesting. Some of the new red phantoms have totally caught me out! I've beaten the Lost Sinner and Old Iron King so far- hoping to pick up Lucateil's trophy tomorrow and then I just need to clear it out before tackling NG+2 for the platinum...

Played some Die Hard Arcade/Dynamite Deka and made it to the last boss (I think). Some questions for anyone who knows the game: Is it true that I need to play the mini-game to gain extra credits?
Can I pick the other character somehow in single player?
How does everyone think this compares to Streets of Rage? Me, I think SoR flows better and has better music, but I like the weapons, humour and bosses here. QTEs annoy me but at least they don't seem to switch them around when you replay the game. I was surprised that it doesn't make use of all the buttons to make moves easier to pull off.

I prefer Periscope on the PS2 remake if only because it's much easier. However, you'll be fine if you just earn a few, if you managed to get to the last boss with the default credit amount. You can't choose the female, from what I know. You could play the game using just the second controller, that might work. I think both games just do their own thing, although DHA/Deka feels much better than other 3D beat-em-ups of the time, so that's good (looking at you, Fighting Force)

Bouncing between a few games right now; specifically Demon's Souls, SMT: Devil Survivor, JJBA: All Star Battle, and Knights of the Old Republic. With Demon's Souls I'm simply playing through with a new character and shamelessly abusing the duplication glitch to get as many upgrade trophies as possible. I'm playing with a magic user this time since I went pure melee with my first character. As for Devil Survivor, this is my second attempt at beating the game. I picked it up back when it came out, but it never really clicked with me (I was inexperienced with SMT games). I decided to give it another shot since I'm more experienced with the series, and so far I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I'm having a much easier time now than I remember having a few years ago.
I haven't put much time in All Star Battle or KotOR yet. ASB arrived little over a week ago, and I bought KotOR during the Star Wars sale Steam was having. I was out on vacation with my family all last week, so I'm just now getting around to them. I'm really looking forward to playing KotOR as this is my first time with the game. I never had an Xbox, and my PC at the time it was released wasn't really great for gaming.

Currently trying to 100% Jet Set Radio.
It's actually a lot easier than I thought. I'd never really paid attention to the game's scoring mechanics before and just sorta played as I saw fit. Now I've gotten the hang of the trick system (it's simplicity arguably is what makes it so hard), and where the best places in the levels to acquire points are. Just one stage to go, in fact...
Unfortunately, it's Kogan, which has the most annoying enemy placement of the three for trying to deal with the larger graffiti...

Great use of Nitro. That band is ridiculous. I will admit that I didn't know who those were. I just took the image from this:

Good thing the Vita is doing so bad, I've got a bunch of free games off PS plus! I've played only the tutorial of these so far.
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite: my first MonHun, I can see why this has a following, I had to read a bible before start playing it. I've picked a Gunlance first cause the manual said it was the most versatile weapon, but it's too heavy and hard to master, not very good for the initial quests I suppose. I don't think I can play online since it's a PSP game, so I'm not going to invest too much time on it.
Soul Sacrifice: it's so dark and edgy and western, must be the Inafune Effect. This one reminds me Order of Ecclesia, you can use various weapons at the same time, but it kinda breaks the MonHun clone philosophy. Everyone ends up being the same.
Gravity Rush: the main reason I got a Vita, it's the best "Super Hero on a sandbox game" I've played so far. Gravity shifting is so much better than flying or web swinging or super jump/gliding. The bad thing is that I get motion sick if I play too much and the obligatory touch control for dodging and map checking.
I might tackle the Ys series next, such a shame Crisis Core isn't on PSN.
