Seeing as there are 3 topics about game endings here I was wondering what do you think about game endings? Maybe you could cook up a nice article about them? Be it for HG101 or 1up, I don't care. Actually, Nadia Oxford wrote one for 1up (which was good) so I guess if you ever write one there you would have to go to especifics (80s game endings, FMV endings, bad/good/weird endings, choaniki endings ) BTW I saw your 80's article at 1up, nice job

I do really like that concept! I'd say that it would be a good idea to cover just about every ending that isn't a white "CONGRATUATION" on a black screen. Start out with a few of your favorites, then add more at random intervals. Maybe even accept reader contributions like with a certain other website that I visit frequently! Not-so-subtle time: Mr. Rey, I'd like to send my salutations to you and the rest of the VGM crew for one of the greatest VG websites I know of. ;D ... however, I do wanna clarify one thing: Why the bloody deuce is "a fat boys" always a choice in your polls?!

Not a bad idea, but I'd definitely have to prowl around for contributions and suggestions. I'll check out the 1up article to see what they had to say. Thanks!

If you were gonna do a game endings article, why not one on games that have cool, but unexpected endings?
Cyber Lip is a good example of that.

My english level isn't high enough to detect the sarcasm in that post ;D "Not-so-subtle time: Mr. Rey, I'd like to send my salutations to you and the rest of the VGM crew for one of the greatest VG websites I know of." Thanks Sotenga, I'm glad you like it. Though lately the only "crew" has been me.... damned slackers "... however, I do wanna clarify one thing: Why the bloody deuce is "a fat boys" always a choice in your polls?! " I have no idea, that's something Mek always uses and no one knows what it means; not even him. And the poll thing is broken, that's why it hasn't been changed in like 2 years now, haha.

Man, I still can't stop thinking of that horrible ending for Milon's Secret Castle. I understand 8-bit endings are simplistic, but considering all the hell you went through that ending was just an insult.

Indeed, I remember spending like 10 straight hours playing that game on the nes back then. But I didn't mind the ending that much, I knew it was gonna suck, but knowing I finally beat that game... that made me feel good and dirty ;D

I forget if it was the Master System or NES version of Shinobi, but one them is obscenely difficult compared to all other versions, and when you kill the final boss and it just gives you a game over screen and you restart. Unlike some articles of this nature, it would be cool if each ending you covered was a little more self-contained. That is to say, you actually go into the ending in detail and why it's so awesome/relevant to the rest of the game/etc.

Problem was that I didn't actually get past the second "door" until a few years ago. I guess if I had gotten through it when I was young it would have been a better experience.
