You know them, you love them. I propose say; an article (or mini article rather) about the tyrants of videogames:
the enourmous bosses. if it be grandmaster meio's flying airship or the flaming dragons from gradius let it be heard

Let's see- Chief among the most innovative, deadly, and outright fun bosses I've encountered would be Seven Force from Gunstar Heroes. Mention would have to be made for the Final Fantasy WEAPONs and their related breatheren like Penance and Nemesis. Galamoth from Castlevania: SotN deserves a nod. Other mentions might include Robotnik's huge mech from the end of the Death Egg zone in Sonic & Knuckles, Xemnas from Kingdom Hearts II and along with him, possible Zelos from Skies of Arcadia. The opening stage enemy from Mega Man X2, though easy, proved merely the bigger they come, the harder they fall. Honorable mention has to be made for at least one Metroid series boss- be it Metroid Prime, Kraid from Super Metroid, or some other boss. Zelda 64 has some great ones as well, and one could also probably mention the infamous Cyberdemon from Doom. Shadow of the Colossus is worthy of an article in and of itself. I'm sure there's a whole bunch of others, but those come to mind right off the top of my head.

Would the battleship from R-Type make it? It was essentially the stage AND the boss.

The first boss from Darius Gaiden, the final boss from Serious Sam: First Encounter, Genolla and Gurlugon (MGS: VR Missions, and MGS2 Substance, respectively), the Mega Censor from Psychonauts...

the final boss from Serious Sam: First Encounter Ugh-Zan III. Now that's a huge final boss (90 meters tall). One of the biggest I've seen (if not the most biggest).

I can name quite a few... Dracula's last form from Castlevania III, Raglan from Skyblazer, Z-Leo from Alien Soldier, Ozma from Final Fantasy IX, Gamma from Mega Man 3, the Mothership at the end of Metal Slug 2, Rootmarks from MS3, the friggin' demon from MS5, Typhon from Rygar: The Legendary Adventure, Caduceus from Strider 2, Somulo from Demon's Crest, Loki from Ghouls N' Ghosts, Sardius from Super GN'G, the Red Dragon and Synn from both Capcom Dungeons and Dragons BEUs, the Cilia Monster from Abadox, the Nightmare King from Little Nemo, and...
Hey, why not the last boss of Splatterhouse? All you see are his head and hands, but he's gotta be gigantic, right? *points to current avatar* ;D

Ah, right. Lucifer and Metatron from Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. The whole game is bizzare, but fighting an enormous cyborg arch angel was just nuts!

How about Queen Fossil E from G-Darius, sure it's just the second boss of the game but it takes up the entire right side of the screen just to show part of it (just bought G-Darius PSX, and my jaw dropped when I seen how big any of the bosses are in the game)..

Curious Chandelier and Hysteric Empress from Darius Gaiden should be in there too.
You could do a whole article just on these bosses in shmups, let alone games in general.
There's Metal Head from Low G Man. That thing was cool. It was like that machinery boss you could jump inside of to damage in Mega Man 3 only it was three screens high.
