I can't think of many more characters to add that they didn't bring in for Melee (was so happy to see Captain Falcon!) but how about those backgrounds? Besides the trophies and such I didn't much care for the game bar those single player levels- The Zelda themed ones and the Metroid ones were awesome- if they could do a level based on the collapsing Ganon tower from Ocarina of Time or one of the gunships from Super Mario Bros. 3, that would be hot

Fanboys would squeal with joy if Geno was playable.

I can't believe they finally included Pit. I'll echo the earlier sentiments: IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME! How about Little Mac or King Hippo as characters? ...or maybe Captain N?

Ha, pushing the "jump" button on his controller for his 3rd jump. That would be neat, but it would never happen.

I just hope they don't add Sonic or Tails. Adding Snake was a stretch, but he did appear on the NES originally. Sonic and Tails would be asinine. Actually Snake first appeared on the MSX, as did Belmont. Sonic wouldn't be that much of a stretch since the Smash series seems to be expanding to cover gaming icons across the entire spectrum.

I dunno. I've come to the conclusion that any more 3rd party characters will make it more like Dream Mix. I mean, its neat, but the whole spirit of Smash Brothers was Nintendo characters fighting Nintendo characters.

I dunno. I've come to the conclusion that any more 3rd party characters will make it more like Dream Mix. I mean, its neat, but the whole spirit of Smash Brothers was Nintendo characters fighting Nintendo characters. That's definitely how I feel now. Sure, Snake's great but I feel as though he's too out of place and is not deserving of being a character in Super Smash Bros. I mean the original Japanese N64 title is "Nintendo Allstar! Dairantou Smash Brothers" indicating "Nintendo's All stars". Or maybe I'm just being really naive. Bit of news about the game however: "The game's designer, Masahiro Sakurai, has explicitly stated that Brawl will not be constrained by the choice in Melee, so some characters will likely leave, and others will stay." This is also upsetting, for I really hope my main characters to stay in the game (Captain Falcon and Mr. Game and Watch)

I really can't see why they would cut Falcon, he's been in since the beginning. I just hope that all the characters have unique moves. A lot of the characters in Melee were copycats with different weight classes.

I could do without the Ice Climbers and the Fire Emblem characters- the two Fire Emblem ones being perticularly sucky to play with :\

Hey, they can not drop aboth of the fire emblem characters personally I'd hope they wouldn't drop Marth but that's because is and continues to be my favourite Smash Brothers character. While I could understand dropping Marth or Roy the style they share should remain as it's a different from the other character types ie not a clone.
Dr Mario doesn't really do anything special so I could see him feasibly falling out of the line up. Ice Climbers on the otherhand are fairly unique to Smash Brothers as there isn't really any other fighters (to my knowledge) in other fighting games that play like them so I'd hope they wouldn't cut them.
Personally I don't mind it being a mix of different companies characters as I've always felt that it's also partially about dream meet ups between game characters. Much akin to Super Robot Wars is to Mecha.

Ack, they better not drop Dr. Mario, he's my main character. Again, its one of those weight class issues.
I really want to see what they're going to do differently than Melee. I mean, they improved on the original by adding more characters and the ability to dodge, so what's next? Those super moves look cool, but I doubt I'd use them much considering that my friends and I never play with items.
