After reading the article on it at H101, I have to add Bubsy.
Damn, why does everyone hate the games I like?

I feel your pain, James. I feel your pain. (Especially when it comes to stuff like Ehrgeiz.)

Silent Bomber is totally underrated and underappreciated to the extreme.

Clearly, Metal Gear Solid 2 is underappreciated. "Raiden's a whiny friend, and the story makes no sense". That's no reason to knock the game. MGS2 just demands a bit more from the player than most games.

Though I actually know and have met VERY few people who dislike MGS2.

I liked MGS1 more, but didn't dislike nr 2. Deffinatly the weakest of the main series (not the originals and the spin-offs), but still great. And I'd like to ad the Bonk series. Should be up there with Mario and Sonic (some Bonk games even suprass their efforts), one of the best series no one's played.

I really appreciate two games. Final Fantasy Tactics owned my life for a few months (still have yet to finish chap. 4...), it is a great game with really good sprites and pretty good load times for the PSX, but no one really talks about it.
The other great game has to be balloon fighters, which i rented one time and played it a little bit, but it was creative and pretty good to boot.

Megaman X6 It finally used real electrical guitars for some of the music. I've been waiting forever for Capcom to do this. Not only that, but the level design, however bizarre it was, was actually more challenging than the bosses for once. Forget the fact that most of the story made absolutely no sense and that the translation felt bablelfished; at least they kept the Japanese voices in this one.
SaGa Frontier First and only RPG I've ever played where the defend command was useful for more than just the first boss. Heck, I can even get wiped out from random encounters if I level up too fast. It's also fun to see all of the attack combinations you can do to one boss who feels like their stats were taken from an elite boss in World of Warcraft.
Oni Stupid, stupid, stupid Bungie. How could you let this IP go? You could've used Konoko for DoA4 if it weren't for that! Anyway, this felt like the next logical step from Idea Factory's/Namco's Ehrigeiz, except Bungie never decided to add the multiplayer feature into it.
Unreal Championship 2 Could just be the people around me though. Whenever they see my Xbox, they automatically think that Halo's already inside there, and if it's not, the game's ALWAYS replaced with Halo if someone else has a copy. I don't understand how they think reflecting a rocket back into their face with your melee weapon (with perfect timing, of course) is not awesome.

There are some games being bashed for a good reason, I think MMX6 is one of them. I love the MMX series, but this game sucks HARD. Plus, its one of the only games you can get stuck by choosing the wrong choice.

I agree, as a Megaman fanatic I think the only MMX game worse than 6 was 7, both on account of those annoying rescuables that could be permanently lost.

I'd like to ad Sword of the berserker. Everybody was going Devil May Cry this, Devil May Cry that but I wasn't impressed. I was on my third go with Gatts and company trough what might be the only game ever that added more blood and gore to it's western relese. It's fun, it's production values are almost too high, it looks awesome for such an early title in the Dreamcast's libary, the voice acting is among the best i've heard in a game. It's much better than the crybaby Dante imo.

Most people didn't like it because you'd play the game for around 5-7 minutes at a time then be treated (or tortured depending on who you are) to a 10-15 minute cut scene which is unusual for a beat em up. I enjoyed them, but that seemed to be the biggest complaint about the game at the time. Hope those kinds of people never played Xenosaga
